Does anyone know whether those ships can run out of depth charges? :P
I have been depth charged for 2 hrs now - is that normal? :P
On a side note, i find it weird that i have minor flooding but my hull integrity is 100% percent.
Thanks

WELCOME ABOARD! :sunny:
I know that ships have a limited number of depth charges in SH3, so they should in SH5 as well. How many ships are attacking you? If one carries 36 charges then two or three might easily bomb you one at a time for a couple of hours. What year is it? Later in the war destroyers can carry over 100 charges.
As for the flooding, a depth charge can shake the boat, breaking pipes and valves, but still not damage the pressure hull.

It's been a long time since I last checked, but I think they have around 30/50 depth charges per rack.
But even once they have run out of Depth Charges, they will continue to circle around, if they have any sonar or hydrophone contact (Even that tiny tiny yellow bubble when they pass directly over) they will never leave you alone. They will only leave you alone if they have no contact at all.
Though my information may be outdated as I have not played for over a year now.

The longest period of time I have read about where a U Boat was depth charged was in WWII. A particular boat(Can't remember which one) was depth charged for something like 9 hours off the coast of Hiafa in the Med. The crew vcouinted something like 240 depth charges. After this the U Boat had to surface and was captured with it's enigma machine and codes intact. I think it was U 512, but not sure,:wah:
