View Full Version : U Play Has Stopped Working - Help Please

Hi guys

Clicked on the SH5 icon

Uplay starts looking for updates and then I get the windows message "Uplay Launcher has Stopped working"

Any ideas what I need to do?

as you know mate, i cant even get it to install. maybe its bad timing for me and maybe uplay is down at the moment.

Its the one thing about SH that really "grinds my gears" is that its published by Ubisoft who are notorious for zero customer support and limited patching on all its titles.

If it wasnt for all you folks here fixing up SH titles with mods and patches it wouldn't be half the game it is. :yeah:

Not working for me at this time UPLAY has been CRAP from day one GOODBYE To
SH5 for me.

You mean I had a choice.

TDW gave me some advice and I went on to the Ubicrap website and there was a guy there that also had had a Ubisoft Game Launcher problem and in his post he had a download link to a Swedish reputable website where I downloaded the new UGL.

Game is now running ok.

Followed the advise TDW gave you went to Uplay site and got the link SH5 working OK now But this is the last chance it gets.:salute::salute:

Sounds like I had the same issue. UbiPlay tried to install something and the it stopped working. I get the windows message "Uplay Launcher has Stopped working".

An easy solution that might work for you is to right click on the SH5.exe (or the icon) and select "Run as Administrator":up:. This solved whatever issue it was having and it is easier that re-installing it. Hope this works for you, the next time it happens!!

I have checked the exe and it is not set as an Administrator.

we should probably make this fix a sticky.

I built a new system over the summer. I reinstalled SH5 over the weekend from the original CD. All went well, the program logged on and updated to v 1.2. I was able to log on to Uplay. However, when I went to start the game, I kept getting the message that "Uplay has ceased working".

As suggested, I uninstalled the Ubisoft Game launcher, reinstalled that latest version and problem solved, game works fine.

Now I just have to catch up on the latest mods. :arrgh!:
