The data is broken down by county.

Nice interactive tool:

I read this page just a few hours ago, and it is relatively detailed.

Geesh, seems in our small county of about 6 small cities got a assault rifle for every field officer.

Police are getting scary. I may have mentioned once that in the middle of the night I heard what I thought was someone kicking in my front door. I woke up in a daze, got my shotgun and came into the living room to what sounded like someone trying to get through the door. I even lifted the gun to get ready to shoot. I finally heard someone yelling police dept...so I looked out the window to see about 6 cops out there, many in full military gear. I turned on outside light and told them I was putting my gun down...only to hear yelling "he has a gun." I damned near thought I better duck....I even said....no need to shoot. My dogs were going nuts, didn't want them shot either. I open the door, but not locked iron bar door and the cop told me to keep my hands up and tried to come in jerking on the storm. Told him let me put my dogs up....got a big NO to stay where I was. I had at least two guns pointed my direction. Heck, I was in my underwear, told wife and kid to stay in the back...The cop said a 911 call came from the house. I told him not to my knowledge. I asked wife and son to come out and they didn't know anything. They wanted to come in and I told them we didn't call, nothing to do here. My wife and son both were questioned through the storm door. They even asked to search the house, in which I told them no....Seems they couldn't accept a mistake was made. They finally left.

I checked our phone records with company and there was no call made from our house to 911.

I almost dread to think what would've happened had they decided to rush through the door while I was standing there in my underwear with a shotgun.

I think if I were a cop in a nation in which every retard can have a gun I would be double cautious too and have some armed backup training their guns on anything that moves inside a suspect's house. At that point their info was that an emergency had happened at your house and that can mean anything. So while it was definitely a situation in which I had filled my pants and feared for my life I can't really blame them. They have to face that every day. Every emergency they get called to can involve a guy pulling a gun and shooting at them. So it's natural that they want to be prepared and have their guns ready. They have to do that for decades and it only takes one moment of dropping their guard to get a bullet.
Seriously I could imagine that weapon availability in the US and police brutality correlate.

Aye, that's the one I was initially issued with but the last few years the issued kit was the US style carbon baton:

My personal favourite (you usually got them by 'stealth' means) was the extendable version which was easily concealed:

^NICE! still carrying those two along with the pepper spray-and that's just the 'weak side'!?:O: "— After a decade of sending military equipment to civilian police departments across the country, federal officials are reconsidering the idea in light of the violence in Ferguson, Missouri.
The public has absorbed images of heavily armed police, snipers trained on protesters and tear gas plumes. Against that backdrop, Attorney General Eric Holder said that when police and citizens need to restore calm, "I am deeply concerned that the deployment of military equipment and vehicles sends a conflicting message." http://bigstory.ap.org/article/us-rethinks-giving-excess-military-gear-police (http://bigstory.ap.org/article/us-rethinks-giving-excess-military-gear-police)

Yea, that's why they should show up at the right house....I always wondered who really needed the help

Just never look like a wedding party, the drone will not ask you questions.
Of course, you'd be just collateral damage. You know, all in best intentions.

Do the extendable versions have one side with a flat edge? The army MPs have one that has a flat edge one side which is handy for the back of the knee. :yep:

Indeed, quite useful those telescopic ones, a lot lighter too. :yep:

Might be hard to believe but they were actually more effective at penetrating laminated car glass than the carbon batons.

And the new happy medium (combo) 21' epoxy covered aluminum.http://images.knifecenter.com/thumb/295x295/knifecenter/monadnock/images/1102.jpg Still prefer the all carbon sidehandle and carry the collapsible metal monadnock only for backup if dropping the primary in a scuffle. My lifetime permit is so old, the young turks jaws drop when doing a certificate inspection-30 years!
