View Full Version : Just a few questions/probs, advice needed plz

I have recently gotten that urge again to pilot a u-boat and sink some ships and do some underwater exploration lol but ran into a few hiccups that i could use some advice on. Guess ill just hop right to it....


1) My hydrophone guy occasionally picks up a contact every now and then but when he does, he can sometimes follow the contact but cannot ever, ever give me a range to contact.

2) Installed a radio mod with era appropriate music that doesnt seem to work properly. (List will follow)

3) I spend hours searching for contacts and rarely see anyone and when i pick up a noise sometime my hydrophone guy don't pick it up and reports nothing, so question is, if i locate a noise that he doesn't what would i do from there? 4 point method? being my 3 point method wont work as my sound guy is mathematically challenged and cannot ever tell me the distance to anything.

In the 4 bearing method you will not know were exactly how far the distance is until you plot the fourth bearing , and when you have mulitple ships you have to work the hydro yourself as per stoiams and the bersters tutorials .. and some advice if you are really liking Sobers mod , enviroment etc .. I tried that mod but I like the toned down version of enviroment in TWOS , mod pack , before there was no colletive mod packs as of today were there is now . You want fuctionallity and nor have to troubleshoot when in mass mod soups wereas you will have too troubleshoot when you get CTD , etc ..

I find that TWOS is very stable and fuctional , and I have had a huge Mod List before I went awol on patrols in SH5 two years ago .. I would recomend a simpler mod pack and than you dont have to re-download files when you finally find out what is causing CTD .. the hydro issue is common but these are Ai Crew and you are the human . I do depend on the AI operator to tell me what bearing the contatc is when he is on top of things , but in multiple contatcs . I belive he is ineffective , so there fore I get on the hydro myslef and use the four bearing methos to track mulitple contacts
