News reports that the General was shot from about 100 yards.
It is sad to read comments one some of the news sites about how cowardly the shooter was, when he was doing what our snipers do.
Their snipers shooting a high ranking officer are cowards
Our snipers shooting a high ranking person are heroes
I get it.
It is sad that the General got shot. But honestly, no more nor less sad when when other members of our military get shot.
I wonder who will get a more flamboyant memorial?????

Precisely.
I've not heard nor seen anything that says the shooter was a sniper. Hitting that many people (at least 15 by accounts) that fast is not the work of a sniper.

People trying to overthrow a government we support are called Terrorists
People trying to overthrow a government we don't support are called Freedom Fighters.
