Hello,
I wonder if anyone can help.
I have an iOmega network drive, no due to my wife pulling the plug on so she could plug in her curlers it stopped working. My first fear was the whole drive was gone, but after I took off the cover I discovered it is just a Seagate Barracude with a network board attached. Lightbulb!!! So I took the network board off, bought an ATA data cable, a sata - molex power adaptor and installed it into my PC.
Result, XP recognises the drive, I open up disk management, I then remove the existing partitions, and give them back and assign a drive letter to each partition. Now when I was going through the wizard I didn't format the drive. The reason being I have all my music on the drive, plus lots and lots of family photos. I don't want to lose these. The whole point of this is data recovery not to lose it.
However when I click on the new drive letters in My Computer it tells me they are not formatted. Please help, as it was a network drive I'm assuming the disk os already NTFs format and it's still there. So how do I get XP to recognise this.
Attached is a screenshot.
