Dear sirs, I got Sh5 out again and have started to play Steel wolves, but, the deck guns are driving me mad, I can get them to fire but I really want to do is target them with the binos, and I can't, can anybody help? Also the gun crews keep going off for a fag break when I need them.:/\\!!

Have you made sure the gun is loaded? I have stupidly made that mistake before without realising.

If you are modded up, you can command the gun crew to aim at any place on any ship. If you point your Binocs at a ship, and press the space key, they should fire at the ship you're seeing through the Binocs. You can change and point at another ship and fire at any time.
Also, the gun crew will not man the gun in heavy seas because it was physically impossible. So they might initially gear up, then just as you're ordering fire they're gone.
Again, there is a mod that will man your deck gun in all weather types, so you can use that if you are frustrated with the deck crew going for tea.
I use TDW's UI with the SH5 type UI (you can have the UI look like SH3, 4 or 5).
