I haven't play for a while, my eyes aren't what they use to be, but that doesn;t mean I shouldn't be in charge of a deadly war marchine.

I could realy use some things to ease the pain. Is there a button to center yout scope or center on your boat in the map? I could be wrong, but didn't SH4 have a kind of note pad in the top left of the screen at the attack parascope? A pad giving you the type, range, speed etc of the ship you put a coloured triangle on. How to I activate that or was that annother game?

Are you looking for Auto Targeting? You put the triangle on the target and it tells you speed, distance, etc. The triangle turns Red, Yellow or Green depending on how favorable a shot it is. In the Office is where you change your Options. Leave Manual Targeting unchecked.

Max Optic mod may also help you in game with scope/binocs.

No, I already know that part. I'm just under the inplression that there was some kind of quick reference that comes with useing auto, and I need to know if there is something else I have to do to get it or since it's been so long since I played am I just thinking a of different game?

The torpedo control shows all the info you're looking for. While in periscope view or attack map view, look for a tab on the left of the screen.

...Is there a button to center yout scope ...Do you mean "Set periscope to heading?" That should be with either the Minus/Underscore key, or the Plus/Equal key. I always get them mixed up. The other means "Set heading to view"

...or center on your boat in the map?..."Setting your scope centered on your boat in the map makes no sense. The periscope is part of your boat. And has no relation to where your boat is on the map.

SH3 has the notepad, and SH4 only for the German campaign if you have the 1.5 patch/upgrade. In SH4 with the US campaign you have the 2 gizmo's on left and right of the screen that make up the TDC and position keeper. But no paper notepad afaik.
