Hi Theberbster,

A few weeks ago my Windows 7 system got quirky and I had to make a fresh reinstall. In the old system my SH5 and COD flight-simulator were running under Steam, but now, with regard to a new installation of SH5 I was looking in another direction. What I wanted to do was implementing The Dark Wraith patch in SH5 to make it a better game but this was not possible (as has been said many many times on this Forum ) when using Steam. So I decided to use henceforth Uplay for a browser.

So I bought a new SH5-dvd, got me a new email-account and and after installation SH5 registered myself with a new Uplay-account. Now after being installed, the TDW’s patch did his work unhampered and in combination with mods like NewUis_TDC_7_4_2 and OH II v2.5 the game turned out to be terrific. I’m very happy with the game as it is now and I think This Forum is really outstanding with its very professional modders, experienced advisers and lots of enthusiastic gamers, ready to help.

My question is: can I still use Steam for my other game namely Cliffs of Dover? Can I activate it by Steam with my old password and userscode without problems for SH5 working now under Uplay, without making old-sleeping dogs awake? I mean without the risk that Uplay shifts me down to the SH5- Steam version?
As a keen COD-player I would not mind to buy another COD version with a new account by Steam if that would solve the problem.

Can you please help me out?

Hi Weinstube

I do not have the technical knowledge to give you a proper answer.

To install the dvd you would have had to uninstall your steam version.

As long as steam has no association with SH5 now I do not see that there would be a problem as they would be isolated from each.

Any other games you have on steam logically I do not know why there would be a problem.

Someone might know differently.

Until you try you will not know.

Peter
