View Full Version : US plan to use the military against citizens
As I understand it Obama/Government want to use to military to support to civilian fire and emergency services, special events and the domestic use of the Army Corps of Engineers, as it is written in the article
Is the more to the story?
Have read the whole article and I really don't understand the fear to do so. They do so in other countries if a huge catastrophe hits them.

Have you seen this story elsewhere on the internet? I'm leery of the source you cite, as The Washington Times is at best, essentially a right-wing, cult-owned rag that has no love for Obama.

Well, it seems Slovenia invaded Serbia and Bosnia in May.
Or we just sent convoys of food and supplies to the flood stricken areas via the Army.

Made a google search on this subject and found lots of newspages carrying this story. However it's not any of these mainstream media.
Here's more I thought that washingtontimes was a newspaper that was seen as a part of the mainstream media.

Why, this not a conspiracy theory (?)
"The directive contains noncontroversial provisions on support to civilian fire and emergency services, special events and the domestic use of the Army Corps of Engineers."
What is wrong about that, why shouldn't the military help in certain cases of civilian distress when the military has the gear to help, this is nothing new.
And, b.t.w., is there any EVIDENCE that it is planned to be used against own citizens ?
Also, probably it would be more worthwhile than guarding Afghanistan, or bombing Laos. :03:
I always find it amusing how it stays the same no matter who is in the White House or which party is in power; under Bush, the knock was it was a plot by the "New World Order" of the wealthy Far Right; under Clinton, it was a plot by the "New World order" of the 'one-world' Far Left; under Daddy Bush and Reagan, it was a plot by the corporations and the military for the Far Right, and etc., etc., etc., ...
I would not be surprised if there was not some version of a tinfoil tri-corner hat wearer back in 1784 who was warning the newly created US Army was a plot by the Federalists or Whigs or whoever was around at the time...

For some people that is exactly what it is.

It's a good story. One side gets excited, the other side gets defensive...and the world keeps spinning. :03:

Kinda like how Obama is both a Nazi and a Commie? :D
He's a Nazi...and a Commie.
He's a Muslim....and an atheist.
He's a ruthless dictator who spies on and imprisons his enemies...and a weak, Mom-jeans-wearing wuss who won't stand up to his enemies.
A man of whoever you need him to be, our President(s).
Guys we just leave it here. I didn't knew it was a conspiracy(thought that WT was a decent and mainstream media)
I know that every American President have been accused of almost every conspiracy-like-stuff and so will the next coming President be

^ Not his fault!:D goes back to Thomas Jefferson, the first Democrat, and his first lady (Sally Hemmings):O: and his inaugural address after a bitter election: " “Every difference of opinion is not a difference of principle. We have called by different names brethren of the same principle. We are all Republicans, we are all Federalists.” Whatever their differences, both parties are loyal to the same Constitution and its principles—though they may interpret and apply them somewhat differently.

You probably didn't know, but The Washington Times was founded by the Reverend Sun Myung Moon of the Unification Church ("Moonies") fame. It's always had a rather hard-right, super-conservative reputation. As a newspaper, it loses money every year, but the cult...um...church keeps it afloat.
@mapuc
I hope you're not under the impression myself and others are trying to mock or belittle your OP; you are very probably unaware of the provenance of the article and/or the news paper it came from. Here in the US, there has been an awful lot of these sort of wildly exaggerated claims over many, many years, if not decades. The sad thing is the rest of the world, not knowing the full context, quite often takes these reports as truth. If it is any consolation, an awful lot of US citizens are prone to accepting erroneous, out of context reports from outside news sources as truth, often skewing our viewpoint of the rest of the world. You are not alone in this...

I saw the link on a friends friend and I couldn't write on his wall, saying it was a conspiracy(after I had posted it here on Subsim)
Earlier today some other had shared this information and here I could post an answer I wrote it was nothing more than a conspiracy
About 10 minutes later another person posted this link as an answer to my post
http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/corres/pdf/302518p.pdf
I can read English but juridical English I'm not good at.
I still say it's a conspiracy
I studied the link and from what I have learned the US military has their own domain .mil

Thanks for posting the link, Markus. I think you'll find the most important description and point is here.
g. Federal military commanders, Heads of DoD Components, and/or responsible DoD civilian officials (hereafter referred to collectively as "DoD officials") have IMMEDIATE RESPONSE AUTHORITY as described in this Directive. In response to a request for assistance from a civil authority, under imminently serious conditions and if time does not permit approval from higher authority, DoD officials may provide an immediate response by temporarily employing the resources under their control, subject to any supplemental direction provided by higher headquarters, to save lives, prevent human suffering, or mitigate great property damage within the United States. Immediate response authority does not permit actions that would subject civilians to the use of military power that is regulatory, prescriptive, proscriptive, or compulsory.
According to that clause the document gives the Department Of Defense the authority to respond to requests for help from state and local authorities to help with situations that threaten lives or property. The last sentence specifically forbids the military from using that article to do anything against US citizens.

Im surprised no one has commented on the U.S. Army doctrine recently approved by the current administration which allows them to turn U.S. citizens into a zombie army. Then using specially trained Kenyans to lead the Zombie army to capture citizens of foreign nations and turn them into slaves of the party.

It's nothing more into this story, it is a conspiracy and as Steve told me after I had posted the pdf-file from the military
"According to that clause the document gives the Department Of Defense the authority to respond to requests for help from state and local authorities to help with situations that threaten lives or property. The last sentence specifically forbids the military from using that article to do anything against US citizens. "
and that's a huge different
I should have used another type of headlines to my thread. Like "US troops can now help in case of catastrophe" or something like that. I used some almost the same sentence as in the headlines in the article.

Conspiracy or not we have to recognize times are changing in the sense that crimes in large cities and small town America are getting more violent and premeditated. School shooting were we are finding the perp heavily armed. Shootings at a mall movie(heavily armed) and finding the perp has rigged his apartment with bombs. Bombs in bags at marathons. Shootings at a college in Blacksburg VA. The list continues to grow and getting more frequent. Sure, we have seen similar crimes in the past but at such frequency? It seems this activity with weapons and crazy manifestos is a weekly occurrence. Should the police be issued gear for handling a growing problem facing every city in America? Should they train for mall shootings? The do here in MD and rightly so. The landscape of types of crimes is changing. The police force must change with it. If there is some civil unrest they will be ready as well. There was civil unrest in the 60's. It required a response. Something different today that the police would not need to respond?
