Oh gawd How I miss Sh5 !! trying too get that Back !! ,However a few questions for you simmers

Sh4 Manuel targeting is some what difficult . unlike Sh5 the recon book in Sh4 only gives mast height , were as Sh5 gives both mast height and lenght of a ship . Using this . You can get Aob More precisely as well as speed , Iam not no mathmatical Genuis , but I have studied how to manel target using Stoiams methods for Sh5, However In Sh4 still missing data that will help adjust torpedo runs , AOB, Speed Etc . and having to change screens from the perisocpe page to the attack map is crazy , Unlike Sh5 The attack map has the dials and the fine cordintates when adjust a fish run, Now alot of sh4 mods are outdated and the links are broken old game :(.. alot of tutorails are gone:wah:..

Iam running the latest Mod TMO 2.5 , Rsdc v 501 xx ..

My questions Are ..

Any links out there that are not now outdated avaliable ?concerning tutorials about manule targeting in sh4 . I used them before but when you go away you forget things .. The provribal use it or lose it

Is there MOD that would allow dials to be put On the Attack map In Sh4 ? I do love tracking ships with Sonor and killing them like that?

I would like to play at 100% again but damm Sh4 make things so hard

And another question that you might have is why dont you have sh5 on your system ,, answer is it is on my other computer which I have to get fixed . So I have this little sh4 game on this laptop .. which wouldnt be able to handle Sh5 modded etc ..thanks for your help :D

Regardless of the game, mod or location of the dials, every method of manual targeting must account for range, bearing, speed, and course (Aob). The TDC will automatically have your course and speed, as well as the torpedo's speed.

The attack map does have the TDC input dials; maybe you are looking at the navigation map? Otherwise, the mods you are using must have eliminated them. RFB takes out some of the attack map functions, but IDK about TMO.

I agree about the missing target length (and other missing data) in the rec manual, but considering all the other things Ubisoft 'forgot', it is small potatoes.

On manual ... I get close ... I lead the target by 10-20 degrees depending on type. Merchants 10 degrees, capital ships 20 degrees. I have a 70% hit rate. I do not touch the dials.

This edition of SCAF is compatible with Trigger Maru Overhauled 2.0.

The mod changes the reference point on many of the ships to a more central position, rather than using ship masts that are rarely centered. The new positions could be a ship's funnel(s), carrier flight deck, wheel house roof, top of the nationality flag, or other structures. This new reference point will be used like the masts, with the Stadimeter's ship waterline image being placed at its top to calculate range to target. The Recognition Manual pictures have been modified by adding a flag, or highlighting in red the new reference point positions to aid in finding the correct point. More importantly, the positions have been calibrated for accuracy with the target ship at several distances and angle on bow headings to give accurate range. This alone improves the reference point figures for correct solutions over the varied stock mast heights. It is proven that many stock mast heights are inaccurate, giving wrong range findings when manually targeting. Using the corrected heights at the designated reference points will provide as close to accurate range findings the game allows.

What is changed with SCAF:

1. Mast heights to all Japanese warships and merchants (except for sampans and smaller fishing boats), the Axis country ships. All Allied warships and merchants. A total of 102 stock ship classes were changed, with 14 additional TMO ship classes, 116 classes calibrated in all.

2. The Recognition Manual ship pictures have the new reference point funnel(s)/structure highlighted in red to aid in reference point identification. The ship pictures not highlighted indicate the mast heights were not changed. Changes were made to some of the pictures to represent the actual display of some of the modified ships. Flags were added to several of the Jap Carriers, and many of the American Warships to indicate the Stadimeter reference point is at the top of the flag (where it attaches to the mast). New text was added to the Recognition Manual related to the changes.

As an optional install, MaxOptics IV for TMO_2 is included with the download.

Regardless of your shooting technique, take time to learn them all. If you use mods like TMO one of the worse ways to get found out is to leave your broadside open to an escort. A fast 90 setup can get you in danger real quick.

The best way IMO to get AOB is to get the enemies course using your tools. If you look at your AOB wheel you'll see where you can set the course. Simply, if his course is 50, set the AOB to 50.

My Settings would be periscope at zero, I have touched nothing so all settings would be what ever I left port with. Fish set at fastest speed, shallowest depth and doors already opened. I hit the fire button and 70% of them sink ... the others sink slower since I have to shoot two more fish or deck gun them out of existence.:arrgh!:
