I was searching the net today and found a old friend. I think the first online game I played was Novalogics Delta Force. We had a large community, 1000's of matches and several forums, but also a squad forum. He still had it and was fun to visit 1999 again and go through 3 years of babble. What amazed me is how it brought back memories I had forgotten, because like here, we often talked of home and family life. Twice our gaming squad met personally and several of us even went to a funeral of one of our friends. I even found a thread I started with pics of the birth of my son...how cool. Time past, people slowly moved on until everyone went their separate way

It made me appreciate this forum even more. Who knows, years down the road, I'll come back and relive more memories. Keep it going Neal...!

I often feel that way about The Grey Wolves and will always cherish the memories of when some of us met in person for the first time at the 2008 SubSim Meet in Texas :sunny:

Looking forward to meeting TarJak again this summer and a few new faces from here.

I hope the site still remains popular, even with the lack of any new naval games really being produced.:nope:

I still gotta meet Steed, and I need to buy Jim and Tarjak a beer.
It has been nice to meet a few people, Steve, August, Neal was cool too.:D

Modesty is a mode of dress and deportment intended to avoid encouraging sexual attraction in others; actual standards vary widely. In this use, it can be considered inappropriate or immodest to reveal certain parts of the body.
...or lack there of.:o

You're thinking of the grammar Nazi.

With Tarjak you'll need to clarify your definition.

Aye, the memories...first morning in the US we were first up so we took a nearby metro into Houston but couldn't find a bar that was open so we simply walked until we found one that was...The Flying Saucer IIRC, it had NBA on draught and was absolutely awful which proves only bottled beers usually travel the world and maintain their original taste.

Gave you a taste of Coopers Sparkling Ale which you weren't keen on either then we settled on bottled Paulaner IIRC.

Yes, I have to agree, forums and their communities are special places. Just think, we came into a new social medium (Internet forums) nearly at the beginning. I wish I had some way to go back and capture the data from the Subsim EZboard and Matt's phpBB days. Still, having archives from 2002 forward is pretty cool.
