Alright guys, I've got a serious conundrum here and was wondering if anyone could help. I have an Asus G55VW that I've had for about two years now and used it to play alot of my games. Well about 3 months ago it got a virus and tried to completely wipe it and reboot it, long story short it kinda worked now my computer wants to act like its setting up every time I boot it up but that isn't the problem. The problem is that I hooked it up this week to my parents LG HD TV while I was home through HDMI cable and switched my main sound source to the TV (So it would play only through that). Now my default sound speakers don't work, or should I say don't so up in the sound menu? The only other device I have besides the TV is "SPDIF Interface (TX0)" and I cannot locate any other hardware or software that deals with the sound to enbale it. But basically it doesn't work anymore, wont even play through headphones although the controller detects something in that jack. Also, it wont play through the PC speakers but if I hook it up through HDMI to the TV again then it works fine.
So my question is, what to do to fix it?? Could it be a driver issue? I went into the control panel and it said my sound drivers are up to date. Im not sure what it is but if I can fix it on my own or with a bit of help, I'd rather do that then have it taken in and wiped and stuff.
Anyways, thanks
Casey.
