Model of USS Arizona

I was wondering if it would be possible for someone to make a model of the USS Arizona for sh4? it would be great to see the beast sail the open waters once more! and if there already is a model of the Arizona out there i would love to get ahold of it! same thing for the USS Oklahoma, i met a guy that was there on the ship the day she was sank!

Honestly all one would have to do is make a model of the Pennsylvania-class. As for the Oklahoma i'm 99 percent sure SH4 has the Nevada-class modeled already.(The other 1% is me not being sure if it's just GWX3 SH3 being the only one with it modeled.)

Like I said I think the stock game even had it modeled already. Just check that first before I go on a potential wild goose chase.

Just boot SH4 up and go to the museum. It should be in the game already.

well, i think it would be cool to see the uss arizona and the uss oklahoma sail again, so anyone up to the challenge of making a playable version of those two ships please do! it would be greatly appriciated! 1.5 compatable and tmo 2.5 with rsrdc for me X3

I do not see much difference in the Pennsylvania class and New Mexico Class save the added on dual Tripod Mast of the Arizona.

Yes there are some technical differences but none that I would think would affect game play if you simply used the New Mexico Mod and then visualize the name Arizona on it. As far as I know none of the BB mods have name on them to begin with.

eh..i see what your going for but the new mexico is its own class, it just wouldent be the same, the reason im asking for the Arizona and Oklahoma is because of the pearl harbor attack, i would like to set sail from pearl and wreak havoc on the japanese fleet with those two battleships it would be like "revenge" haha

the Oklahoma, i wanted her because i used to know a survivor of the Oklahoma, he was a crewman on board the day she was sank at pearl..i wanted to see her set sail into the horizon once more, sort of a "what if" patrol in honor of the men that served aboard her..call me crazy for wanting to do such a thing, i would build one from scratch or modify an existing one or something, i just really would like to see the Arizona and the Oklahoma sail the sea's again as proudly as they once did

Of the thirty-one Japanese ships which comprised the Pearl Harbor Strike Force and it's escort and support elements, only one, an oil tanker, still survived in 1945 to surrender to the Allies. Not to mention what happened to Japan itself. I don't think revenge gets much more total than that.

I knew we sunk all the carriers but I didn't know we got that thorough of revenge on the ships involved.

why does it seem that people are focusing my comment on "revenge" i mean really..i know i said that, but this isnt what its about, its about the fact that i want a model of the Oklahoma and Arizona for SH4..

Words mean things. This is the internet ... do you really think anyone knows what you mean unless you type it? If you type it then everyone is lead to believe that is what you mean. You can not convey emotion or intent unless you specifically type the words that explain them. I have never understood why people believe a reader should "get" someones intention or emotion from an internet post. Many people can read a book and come out with vastly differing emotional attitudes and responses from the words because they read it with their own life experience and education. This forum is no different than a book. No two people will have the same response to a single post because no two people are alike in every way. If one wishes to convey their intent and their thoughts one must be more specific than if you were speaking in person. At least in person an individual can read body language and hear tones of voice and the emotional they carry. You do not have that luxury in typed text.

I guess I was just trying to point our that had these ships survived their grievous wounds at Pearl Harbor, they likely would have found little to beat up on by the time they were repaired and put back into the game. With the exception of the rather one-sided Suriago Straits battle most of the old, slow pre-war battleships found themselves having to be content with shore bombardment and AA duty.

I'm not sure if it was luck or fate, but it seems the ships of the First Air Fleet lived under a cloud after Dec 7th, 1941. The last actual warship of the group, the heavy cruiser Tone, was sunk in Kure Harbor by carrier planes just weeks before the surrender. The last destroyers in the group took part in the Yamato's suicide sortie and didn't survive either.
