Sir Jack Brabham , 3 times F1 World Champion and the only driver to have won a world championship in a car off his own design and that he built, has died today aged 88. :salute:

The Australian driver, who was knighted in 1979, won the championship in 1959, 1960 and 1966.

It was said that Sir Jack did the driving for relaxation and the mechanical engineering was his true passion. He also did quite a lot for F1 as a team owner after his retirement.

Don't know the cause, but I understand he was having dialysis 3 times a week prior to his death.
