They are creditors for millennia, as the Christian and Muslim religion prohibited to lend money for interest.
So, besides they were good traders and supported each other intenslely, they became rich by making others work for them.
If you owe them money, you don't fight vehement for their rights or against their abuse. You get even rid of your debts by actively support their disappearance.
Additionally they keep some distance to the local communities, they have their own religion, their own prejudices, stange rites, different appearance and hats - and their girls are pretty good protected while non jewish girls are shiksas.
And some try to gain control like any other people with enough money and are disliked accordingly.
Oh - and the actual zionist apartheid system in Israel doesn't do them any favour.

They [jews] are creditors for millennia, as the Christian and Muslim religion prohibited to lend money for interest.
However what should they have done, since they were furthermore prohibited from other normal jobs, like blacksmith or whatever. They founded banks, and did take interest.
Banks are not very popular, especially if you lent money from them and have to pay it back. With interest. :D
Right, Christians were forbidden to take interest by their religion back then. But this has changed, if anyone did not recognize, every good capitalistic christian working for a bank nowadays, does not seem to care very much. As well jews are meanwhile allowed to practise any job they want. :03:

Right or wrong, exclusive cliques tend to generate suspicion, disdain and hatred. They're a convenient target for those who need an enemy to control a population.
Every social gathering seems to need an enemy of some sort, whether it's to just feel 'better than the other guy' or for more nefarious purposes. When this happens then the normal rules of decency are put on hold and it's quite alright to use a wide brush on a collective group of individuals and portray them all in the same negative light. Media outlets may play to this to garner more viewing figures from people who agree with them, because they stick a finger in the air and see which way mainstream opinion is swinging and then raise their sail and go with it, and people then gladly follow along with them, creating some sort of feedback loop in which the hysteria of the people is amplified by the media which in turns amplifies its hysteria in response.
For example, on the 1st Jan 2014, Romania and Bulgaria gained the same rights as the rest of the EU nations in regards to cross-border transit. Almost immediately there was a frenzy of media speculation in the United Kingdom that we were going to face a horde not seen since the days of Genghis Khan, a tidal wave of Romanians and Bulgarians that would send the country back into the dark ages. The people from these two nations were labeled broadly as 'benefit thieves', 'criminals', 'fugitives' and other derogative terms. Rather than '5,000 in the first week alone' as the Daily Express warned us, we received a small trickle...in fact during this year, the amount of Romanian and Bulgarian immigrants working in the UK has fallen by 4,000. Suddenly, the likes of the Daily Express have fallen silent on the issue, or have chosen to print it in very small print on page 32 (if it can count that high) and instead they have moved on to the next 'Outrage du jour'. It is by exploiting this easily inflamed xenophobia and nationalism that right wing parties are seeing growth in western Europe, idiots like UKIP who can't go a month without a member being outed as a former member of the British National Party (an offshoot of the National Front which can trace its roots back to Oswald Mosleys right hand man), you only have to look on facebook to see how many people are 'likeing' things from 'Britain First' or sharing things that are false but appeal to that sense of outrage, but no one wants to be bothered to fact check things because it's just easier to go along with the indignation of the masses.
A UK satirical commentator, Charlie Brooker, probably put it best with this slice from his TV series on a show that ran over here for a while called 'Benefit Street', the clip contains strong language:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkrX5J73Vi4
The thing that worries me when these sorts of things happen, is that when a section of society is reduced to a figure of hatred, and when that hatred is encouraged and exploited by political figures, there's a slippery slope that leads to pogoms and mass burials. :nope:
There's not even any money shots. They haven't got any money.

Is it surprising that the ADL releases a study supporting their position?
Out of the eleven questions, if you answered "probably true" to six of them, you are an anti-semite. What does "probably true" mean in an opinion poll? The ADL did not report what percentages answered their questions as being "true".
I imagine that if 49% of the population interviewed identifies as Muslim, the results are not that surprising.
The US had a 9% index. That's not so bad considering, that according to wikipedia 6-20% of Americans believe the moon landings are fake and probably more than 9% of Americans believe Elvis is still alive.
I would not get spun up over this. It will serve ADL's purposes.
Good thread ...sums it up:haha:

Just one quick snapshot. Jews have come increaisngly under fire in Europe, and especially in urban places with great influx of Muhammeddan migrants have chosen to withdraw and to flee from Muslim discrimination and attacks that all to often get glossed over and get marginalised by the political establishment and the political left. Places seeing an accelerating rush-out by Jews, include Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Paris, Marsseille, Malmö, Romania, Poland, Bulgaria and the Scandinavian sphere in general.
This corresponds with the growth in European politics and public opinion that the Palestinians are victims of Israeli conquest and that all would be good if one increasingly criticis Israel and takes a heabily biased stand against it. The attitude that is hostile towards Jews, is old and never was goine away. The only thing that has chnaged today is that today it is called by other, unsuspicious names. But the essence is the same. And this hypocrisy and split-tongued moral posing, last but not least aimed at appeasing Islam, is what pisses me so about it.

I am pretty sure that if someone put together a similar poll using Muslim stereotypes that the percentage of people with anti-Muslim beliefs would be higher... especially in the US. :yep:
Thank you all for giving your answer to this issue
What I understand from this Israel and Jew problem is that there are 3 different people
1. Those who hate the state Israel and their politics against the Palestine's
2. Those who hate the Jews, such as the Neo-Nazis, radical Islam
3. Those who hate both Israel and the Jews
I know from from friends that are either Jew or live among them that there are lots of hate against them. (Skybird mentioned it in one of his thread in here).
I was only chocked that it was that high
Yes the hatred against Islam is high too, have kicked some of my former friends out because of this. Same goes to people that hate Jews, Hindus a.s.o

And then there are those who think the current government of Israel (not all of its inhabitants) is wrong with its foreign politics, especially vs. palestinians. The critics do not deny the past, nor have they no understanding of the israelian point of view. They are often called Nazis or anti-Israel, by the israelian hawks.
And then there is this film 'defamation'. Only found this one, in english:

You have to be an a$$hole to be intolerant and to instigate - no matter what religion or nationality.
So if a German, a British, an Israeli, a Muslim, a Christian or a Jew - you name it - act like an a$$hole, he is just that - and obviously disliked.
If the majority are a$$holes or if the minority are a$$holes - there will be tension - there may be blood.
I guess, it would have been a way better idea to give them California or Wales or Denmark, because the people there are more likely to leave in peace and search for new homes. :06: - :-? - :shifty: - - :88)
Less effort to protect themselves and the religion wouldn't be a problem either - with all those tolerant Christians around.
Ok, joke aside.
The child has been dropped into the well already. The only remaining solution is a two-state-solution now. To me it seems, Israel is not interested at all.
I support Israel to have a country
I support everyone to have a country myself.
And while you respect Israel to have a country, do you also respect Palestinians to have their own ?
You should make familiar a bit with the way of thinking of some good man like Norman Finkelstein for example.

Did the Palestinian have a country before the state Israel was born?
Some say they haven't some say they have
And I'm confused... Have read both sides argument if Palestine's had a country long time ago, then they should have country by their own, if not..then it's up to our leaders to decide if they shall have and how big it should be and how it's border should be a.s.o

For once I agree
On the Internet anyone can make changes on a wiki-page a.s.o, this is very difficult to do in a written book.
There's a big but about books too. You have to look at the author what his or her belief is.
Markus
Everyday Jews are not responsible for what happened in Palestine in 1948, zionists are.

The issue is complicated...
Eventually the Palestinians will have their own country but it is not just a matter of agreeing signing while having good faith and will.
Middle East is a bit messy and unpredictable place as you may already know.
Signing agreement to make the international community happy with itself is easy...well...you know.
It would be lot of fireworks and clapping and talking about courage and so on...
Then later Israel may have to deal with all this crap ..and then you probably may see some really nasty genuine things on the net because there will be no other choice .... and some will read their literature and dance will start again.
Since human rights issue in syria and some other places is too boring already have fun with Israel and the Apartheid lol.

Regarding books and Internet(Wiki a.s.o)
As I wrote it is easy for everyone to make changes in an article in wiki, this is impossible in a written book.
If you read a book about the area down there and the author may be pro this or that, then you will see it in his or her books. That's why I wrote A big but.
Yes it very complicated indeed.
Have made my statement very clear I don't hate other people when it comes to their beliefs or political standpoint. The only thing I hate is extremism in its every form.
Do I hate people who may hate Israel or the jews?
If it's only because of the way they treat some of the neighbors, then they have the right do so, as long it doesn't become radical or extreme
But when it comes to hate just because they are jews or for what they believe then I, well not hate, mostly sadness.
By the way it is not my that have mentioned the word "zionist"

Yesterday there was an article in Swedish newspaper saying that only 4 % was antisemitic. Was glad when I read that.
However a little longer down in the article I spokesman for a group of Jews in Sweden said
"This does not match the EU survey which showed that xxx(*) of Sweden's Jews do not dare go outside with their characteristic jew thing (forgot what they are called)"
* Can't find the article and I can't remember the percentage

Hello Mapuc,
what did you really think of this film ?
First I had to look up what this defamation meant
It shocked me how long this defamation has become, in Denmark and in Sweden it's against the law to commit such a thing(hate speech(writing)
I felt sadness when I saw the video. All this hate just because they are Jews
Are watching the video once more-this time the second link you gave me(German voice, which I understand very well) and no irritating Slovak subtitle.
