SAAMI released an important video concerning ammo and fire. With professional fire-fighters standing by, over 400,000 rounds of ammo were incinerated in a series of eye-opening tests.

good info here! I'll rest a little easier. I keep all mine in a metal trunk that goes out of the house. Still not sure about three cans of black powder for re-enacting though. Thanks for that post.:salute:

Never had that responsibility with firearms, the ones I was connected to were always kept in an armoury.

Short answer: nothing particularly exciting.

I never had the experience of having ammo go off while fighting a fire. I have heard stories from some of guys.

In the video it sounded like a string of ladyfinger firecrackers only not as fast to start.
