Simple. It said that people are nothing more than rubber neckers wanting to get a look at the unusual. Like drivers who slow down and gawk when passing a car wreck.
I have no interest in Honey Boo Boo either. Those rednecks are only in it for the money and the little girl's mother is doing the child a great disservice in promoting and encouraging her retarded behavior. I haven't watched the video either, nor have I watched Honey Boo-Boo, nor do I intend to, however what Wolferz has said does touch on a point that has been raised over here with the broadcast of the TV show 'Benefit Street' which featured what has been dubbed as 'poverty porn'.

There has been an increasing amount of discrimination against those on benefits in the UK, primarily because of the minority which has exploited the system and which receives the most media attention. Since media likes nothing more than a good bit of outrage headlines to sell papers/programmes, and the average Joe seems to lap it all up (judging by the amount of 'Britain first' reposts I've been seeing on facebook of late... :nope: :/\\!!:/\\!!) then it's little wonder that this benefit discrimination has spread so rapidly, and the current government which is looking for any reason to cut benefit expenses, is thriving on the sentiment.

It seems that schadenfreude, or at the very least the seeking of self-gratification at ones higher status than others, is on the rise, and that is sad because anyone can go from well off to poor at the blink of an eye.
