The Star-Spangled Banner Sung in a Minor Key Goes From Inspiring to Haunting (http://cheezburger.com/60426497?ref=whatspopularfooter)

This is one of the best sounding covers of the Star Spangled Banner I've heard, the other being played by Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock.:sunny:

Wow, the area around 1:11 when the chorus reverb comes in, very chilling.

Jimi does a great version, but I must admit, my favourite has never actually been released as a full version, which is annoying, and it's also not technically the US anthem, but from the poem (The Defence of Fort M'Henry) which inspired it, I'm not sure if this verse is actually sung as often as the others:

That was good. Just like melancholic scandinavian folk music. At first, reading the topic title, I thought this was about the new Vatican anthem, you know, the Concerto for organ in a minor.

The original version should alleviate your melancholy!:DPerhaps the world famous St Olaf Choir( my alma) could do a version...in Ĺ minor:O: I suspect ol' Francis S. Key, aboad ship, had a round or two (a good 'tot') during the 'rockets' red glare'!:O: hence his choice of tune...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9lYC0lBfkA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9lYC0lBfkA)..."To Anacreon in Heaven":yeah: a classic drinking song of the day! A very religious man, engaged in negotiations (dining with very cordial British officers) for the release of a prominent citizen aboard a British vessel, HMS Tonnent, lawyer Key chose a paganistic tune for his song, adopted officially as the national anthem in 1931, Skôl BBY!:woot:http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/39/Francis_Scott_Key_by_Joseph_Wood_c1825.jpg/220px-Francis_Scott_Key_by_Joseph_Wood_c1825.jpg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Francis_Scott_Key_by_Joseph_Wood_c1825.jpg) <Francis Scott Key

Borderline at best...not to be repeated if you'd be so kind.
