Just picked up a target fine on the Starboard bow, got its track with the Hydrophone tracker ,she was way ahead of me so surfaced to overtake her . When I got on the conning tower there was only me up there, No watch officer No Look outs nobody ! So went below and everythings normal. Took her down to Siehrohr tiefe then tried again ! Opened the hatch and Nobody up there again ! I must admit I,m having a few bugs and glitches at the present,( No Captains log, JSGME not shifting mods over )even while running as administrator , I,ve read somewhere ( I think) that if I put the game in a folder of its own ,that might work instead of the Documents folder , Maybe I,ve bungled something ,but I,ve only got 2 mods now enabled Sobers Lights and Tangors wooden Lifeboats and I,ve not seen any difference in the game .If I can,t solve it I,m gonna install TEAMVIEWER and let someone who knows about Mods and Files and Folders find where I,m goin wrong ,its a brilliant game ,and I love it . H

Hi Hardigen

Your installation should be something like:

C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5

Your 'Mods Folder' would be in the 'Silent Hunter 5 Folder' above.

You should also have a 'SH5 Folder' in your 'Documents Folder.'

When that happens to me I save the game, go to main menu and reload the game. It usually fixes that. If you leave the game running and use the windows key to leave the game, it seems to happen.

Thanks to both of you for a swift reply, When I search for C\Ubisoft \Silent Hunter 5. It comes up with NO items found, BUT the path is C:\Users\comet\Libraries\My Documents\ SH5 . I hope this is correct. In the SH5 Folder is the following , one below the other ..MODS...data....Phocian 2012 ExtraData ( this is for Uplay my name )....JSGME ( looks like a piece paper with a Cog wheel on it )....JSGME.....externaldata......ExtraData . I hope these externaldata and extradata are not the DOUBLE folders JSGME warned about . Inside the MODS folder are as follows .....Targors SH5wooden Lifeboats (enabled) ......SteelViking Interior Mod v1.02......Sobers Lights (enabled)......No dam Bubbles No dam Haloes......NDB,NDH,OM#1-No dialogue Indicator.......Mighty Fine crew Mod1.2.1 Alt.w. Beards.....Enhanced Ship Recon Manual v1.02......Enhanced Funnelsmoke.....INSTLOGS....BACKUP....JSGME (paper with CogWheel)....JSGME file Snapshot.....externaldata.....extradata . That's all that's in the MODS folder, The ship I sunk last night was an All Aft Tanker she went down on an even keel there were plenty of time to lower the Lifeboats but I did,nt see any in the water ,she went down with All Hands. I am very grateful to everybody who has helped past and present with this problem , Mein kampf with the Mods I hope will soon be resolved. SUBSIM a great bunch of guys H

Sorry to tell you mate, but I think THEBERBSTER is right.Your installation SHOULD/HAVE to look like that.Your best bet to ironing out your troubles is to reinstall the game following that order.:salute:

Hi Hardigen

Cut your losses now and you can stop banging your head against the wall.

If you are installing from a dvd the install will automatically set it to C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5

if you want to use the German voices then you choose the custom install.

The installation places a SH5 Folder in your Documents Folder and also installs in your x86 Program Folder

When you uninstall make sure you run a registry cleaner and restart your computer.

Go to your Start Search and put in Silent Hunter 5 and then SH5.

If you find anything delete it and run the registry cleaner again and restart your computer.

Delete any empty Folders you may find. I think there is a Ubisoft Folder.

Check also the x86 Program Folder.

You do not want anything that is going to compromise your new installation.

If you want to save any Campaigns before you uninstall go to your SH5 Folder in your Documents Folder and copy and paste to a usb stick or disc etc.

When the SH installation has completed and Uplay has also completed its installation go to the Support Folder and then the GameUpdater Folder and run the GU Application.

This will update your game to version v1.2

Use my Tutorial Post for setting up everything else you need like JSGME as this will save you time.

Both TDW Generic File Patcher and TDW Option File Event Viewer are both available as stand-alones and the instructions are in my Tutorials

When you put your mods in JSGME before you enable ALWAYS right click with your mouse and select Explore. If you can see the Data Folder then your mod will be enabled correctly.

Thanks THEBERBSTER for the advice ,just before I come on line I uninstalled it ,will do what you say, not sure what a REGESTRY CLEANER is and where do I get it ! When I did a search for the game it showed all MENUS in it ,this is what I must delete . I,m not too well up on computers , will let you know how I get on. The trouble is I will have not access to my computer for 5 days after To-day so will have a bash at doin it now ! Thanks again B . Hardigen

Great ! Thankyou sir , Downloaded and running CC cleaner latest version Searched For Silent Hunter and SH 5 and deleted all the files still on th computer, also done the same with SH 4 uninstalled and deleted files left on comp, because had the same problem (Mods not showing up in the game ) , been trying for practically a year to get them to work. At least I know now what to do if anything,s not working thanks to you . I,m in your debt. Hardigen
