For you younger folk wondering what the heck is vinyl, this is vinyl.

And you place them on one of these to play as in listen too.

A record player which is far better than those Cd's and MP3's and all the rest. The sound quality is brilliant, far better than today's gadgets and vinyl has made a come back! :yeah:

This year's Record Store Day, on 19 April, saw a surge in vinyl sales, with an increase of 133% on the previous week, industry figures reveal. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-27159534

Precisely! have one atop all the modern crap just so I can listen to "Wheels of Fire" and all the old Stones and Led Zeppelin albums in all their intended glory. The neighbor came over to gripe about the noise one time, saw the thing ...and stayed for the ANTHEMS!!:yeah: Kind of a hard hit though, when I walked into a 'music store' a few years back and asked 'where the records were'; and this guy with a ring in his nose (and other places) asked back condescendingly: "Ya mean 'vinyl' Dude? we don't have any!" Times have passed me by!:wah:

I used to buy a record, transfer it to tape, play it until the tape wore out, and then re-tape the record, which never got played otherwise. Somewhere around 1997 I sold my record collection. My uneducated ear could never tell the the difference, and the CDs are always clean, never a scratch or a pop.

I wouldn't go back if I could.

I can't really imagine myself listening to music wearing a turntable around my neck :O:

So no, mp3's are better :O:

I went to a local record store on vinyl day. It was overpriced and the selection was crap.
Hopefully in July a tour of Soho, Camden, Brixton and Clapham will yield better selections and better prices.
July of course being when one of my young ones goes DJing in London with her godmother, which naturally means vinyl.
