I know that the moment you detect a plane you should crash dive but i've always wondered something. Is the blimp the one thing you should just stay surfaced and fight or do the normal rules still apply?

What are you sailing?
What is your AA armament?

How lucky do you feel?:salute:

The blimp is slower than aircraft but is armed with bombs and machine guns so I'd be diving to safety.

unless you have nuclear shells in your AA guns you will likely die. Even with the nuke shells you may still die.

Unless the shells are only a half a kiloton strong of course you'd die by using nuke shells.

On the contrary...what goes up must always come down.

I did encounter a 'Blimp' once when patrolling off the US Coast - I am not sure how fast they can fly but my Type IXb running at 17 Knots on the surface managed to outrun it - or perhaps they stay close to land?

Chances are it didn't spot you and adhered to its prescribed patrol route.
