I buy most of my games from Steam, but since I hear its easier to mod the DVD copy of SH5, does this mean the Uplay version is also easily moddable?

I know you need to use Uplay to launch the game anyways, and its the same price as Steam, $9.99.

I am talking about this version btw: http://shop.ubi.com/store/ubina/en_US/pd/ThemeID.8605600/productID.250897100/Silent_Hunter%C2%AE%3A_Battle_of_the_Atlantic_GOLD _Edition.html

Thanks.

Buy the DVD version or downloadable non-STEAM version of the game only. If you buy the steam version, you can NOT use the [TEC] sh5.exe patcher found in the sh5 mods workshop forum.

UPlay by itself is not moddable, there are some things you can disable/enable related to UPlay in the [TEC] sh5.exe patcher.

So the download link I provided will allow me to still patch the EXE you are saying?

I have bought the Uplay version and have been able to download and activate every single mod from here including the TDW generic patcher.
