Does FORD "destroy" Cadillac in this exchange? What't the message here, which one is "better"? I had to laugh. I see what Ford is trying to do, but its hard to take it seriously. Gimme them vegetables!:har:
Are you the Cadillac or the Ford? (Or of course, neither).

I've always been a Ford guy...
Hard to beat 'em. :03:

I thought both ads were lame.
GM ad was douchey... "We're the only ones going back". Oh really? In what? The fireball that erupts when your ignition key tries to kill me?

The Cadillac ad was the sum of every stereotype we Europeans have about the Americans. Only the lead character was about 100kg short :haha:
loved the Ford's were not egoists like the rest of the world thinks approach

Ford roofs aren't too good.
Ford is also experimenting with another option for the 2015 model year for F-150s and up. It is a heated tailgate, for when you have to push it home in winter.

I have to admit it, I prefer Fords over GM's. Even though I drive a Jeep. It is what I needed at the time. Because my Lincoln wouldn't climb the slight slope in my driveway in winter.

I've seen the home that Henry Ford owned when he got started in the auto biz and it has a bit of a checkered past. Like union organizers that went in and came out the tunnel leading to the orchard out back. Let's just say that they didn't leave under their own power.
Funny thing. Now they say that the unions saved their butts when the recession hit and bankrupted GM and Chrysler.
I've worked on many brands of automobiles and Fords are the worst from the mechanics point of view.:-? I think they're using monkeys as engineers.
If you don't accept that, try changing the spark plugs on a V-8 Mustang.
Go ahead. I've got plenty of band-aids. Or a Ranger pickup that has two sets of plugs and requires removal of the engine to reach the second set.
Clever ads will never sell me a car. Especially a Ford.
By the way Henry, the 70's called and they want that afro back.:haha:

Both attempting to appeal to a certain group of people. I'm neither Caddy or Ford. Buick by nature. :D

Wasn't overly impressed with either advert but I do have a Ford Focus.

The best ad for a Ford is my fathers Mondeo.
Busted suspension, an overworked engine, stuffed turbine, loose parts and the eletronic MayGyvered to oblivion.
And the thing refuses to die

Are Ford mechanics an endangered species in Slovenia?:O:
Sounds more like a Rollscanardly.
Rolls down one hill and can hardly get up the next.:har:
Maybe a horse would be the better choice?
I hear they're set to make a come back.

INDEED! I rented the diesel turbo version in my death-defying traverse of the UK: Britain and Ireland, on the left side of the road for a whole month (I didn't kill any one!):timeout: Liked it enough to look it up in the states but can't get them(diesel) here...yet. I learned one of the great lessons: Don't drive in London and round-a-bouts are not for the 'faint of heart'. And they really should issue a magnet strip on the car rental back: "Beware: Yank Driver!":o just to give the good Brit motorists a 'heads-up'. Talk about 'focus' BBY!:03:http://autoweek.com/storyimage/CW/20110406/GREEN/110409933/AR/0/focus-econetic.jpg&maxW=630 (http://autoweek.com/storyimage/CW/20110406/GREEN/110409933/AR/0/focus-econetic.jpg)

They're thriving.
It's just that the car is too far gone to be repaired in a economically viable way. But it's fighting to the last.

Roundabouts and 4 way stops.....He with the most balls goes first! Try a roundabout/traffic circle with a 53' trailer behind you.:haha: Somebody gets squeezed out IF they aren't paying attention.

Nothing wrong with driving in London, be aggressive put your foot to the floor and let fly.

That's how its done.
But seriously driving in London as fine as long as you avoid the rush hour, the problem is that rush hour lasts nearly all day.

I guess my outlook was, the Caddy commercial was cocky in a humorous way. The Ford commercial was pretentious as hell, in an embarrassing way. "I'm doing something good for the environment and people, I'm better than you".

Try a roundabout/traffic circle with a 53' trailer behind you.:haha: Somebody gets squeezed out IF they aren't paying attention. Been there, done that in New Jersey for three years (70's); no power steering in those days. For sheer aggression though, getting a reefer of strawberries into lower Manhattan across the GW, Verrazano or Bayonne bridges thru Staten Island is no joke. Your poor co-driver doubles as 'waist-gunner' lookout- they'll steal the freight while your waiting on the light. As lead driver; you start at Philipsburg on the PA boarder all the way across Jersey; the price of being in command of the rig. The # 2's energy and skills are saved for the open road when the PA line is recrossed westbound...and to make the log sheets look good (legit) on the three day trek from sunny California.:o
But seriously driving in London as fine as long as you avoid the rush hour, the problem is that rush hour lasts nearly all day. Sounds like the Oakland-San Francisco commute, considered the worst in the nation I-80 in or out at either end of the interstate: at SF or New York. I've done 'em all every day for 30 years. I can't decide which is worse. The cabs and Metro are so good in London- its not worth the headache to find out. We need to work on that in this country. BART on the west coast or the infamous subways of Brooklyn and the 4 other boroughs of the 'big apple'! Boston, Chicago, LA and New Orleans were equally grim.

LOL...wish I had a tenner in my wallet for each make of car I've heard that one attributed to over the years. Lada or Skoda were the most popular recipients in the UK :)

Škodas improved since they started cooperating with Volkswagen. Or were they bought by VW, too lazy to go and check it.
They say the quality of a German car at half the price

Yes, they have certainly improved a great deal over the past five or so years :yep:

Good cars.
A little bit boring but they get better at that too.
