Ahoy ya salty sea dogs!

I posted this around August when it was newly released. It's a short independent film about a Sub crew in WWII. Filmed aboard the museum ship, USS Cod, in Cleveland Ohio.

Well, I just wanted to toot my own horn for building a sweet PC rig, :D
And the horn of the mod authors who've created the visual effects that caught the director, producer and writers eyes :rock:.

If it comes to fruition, there will be an "Extended Director's Cut", using SH5 for external shots of merchants and warships, periscope views, and explosions, possibly to be finished this summer.

All modders will be mentioned in the film's credits, as well as SUBSIM.COM, and Ubisoft (for legal purposes). I'll keep you all posted as to whether this is going to happen, stay tuned!

Happy Hunting friends!! :arrgh!:

Thanks!! It really is a great short film, snubbed by the film festival's organizers at awards time, but we know the gem we have here, no need for silly awards lol! I'm planning a meeting with the director and his wife(screenwriter) to show them what the game is capable of. At that point it'll be up to them to decide if it's something they can build around. There are certain limitations of course, the USS Cod is a Gato class, and we don't intend to pass the Type VII off as a Gato, but the way they used certain angles on the Cod to hide the fact that she's moored right in Cleveland's northcoast harbor can be applied to SH5 as well.
Well, I'm off to help one of the actors (the sailor with the ukulele) in the film get his car unstuck from the springtime mud lol!
Thanks again for your interest!! :D

I am sure you'll figure out some of the challenges you face, good luck.

Now looking into using SH4 for external views of the Gato class, we'll probably still use SH5 for the explosions, water and sky effects. It all depends on how realistic I can get the visuals with 4
