Ahoy

Hi to all at subsim, Im new to all of this but I recently purchased SH5 for £5.00 which is about all it's worth in its standard format. I have never installed any mods to games before through fear of the unknown but after watching some clips on u tube and seeing the huge improvements that mods can make I have decided to face my fears and have a try at installing some. I understand through some basic research that I need to install a generic patcher first but the problem I'm having is locating certain files that I should backup before I do anything else such as exe.sh5 file. I have tried looking in the game files and doing a search but cannot locate it anywhere. PS My copy is not a steam version of the game.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks all for the response, Ive installed the patcher and still no difference with the game, for instance I enabled for decks awash, started the game up but I cant see the option anywhere in game where I can set the u boat to decks awash. I'm doing something wrong but not sure what? :06:

‘Decks Awash’ needs to be enabled in TDW’s Generic File Patcher (File 2)

In TDW’s Option File Editor Viewer go to Tab 2 (Patches)

‘Is Patch Decks Awash Installed’. Click on this and change ‘False to True’

It is best to leave the default depth 7.00 as it is otherwise you will find your batteries will keep kicking in.

Then go to ‘File’

Then go to ‘Save’

Hover your mouse over the 2nd Submarine Icon and it should say ‘Decks Awash.
