I sure hope he has realized that has outstayed it's welcome. I never really noticed them in the first star trek, but after listening to the commentary and being made aware of them, they are kinda gratuitous. His subsequent movies were just as 'bad'. I truly hope he only adds them sparingly for artistic effect, as I do like them in the right situation.

I have not watched the prequels. I did not see much with any reasoning to do so. The first three originals explained the story enough. Now 30 years later. Everyone will be on Jedi Geritol.

Yup. Covering backstories was the premise for episodes 1 to 3. There were a few tattered holes here and there after thirty years.:haha:

I won't waste my republic credits on Jedi Geritol. I'm saving up for my Jedi funeral.:dead:

Interesting point of fact: Episode VII taking place thirty years after Episode VI. Coincidence :06:

30 years after VI you mean.

Makes sense. Why not use the older characters and enough time has passed to bring in some new ones.

Apparently it is going to be! Since the first news about the new movies, all the actors were giving hints about being in.

Nikmcbee got a role as the dark dog lord that pees up the legs of the jedi. :03:

I can't think of any class-A actors maybe B..C. :hmmm:

I personally didn't see anything massivley wrong with the prequels. Although Episode II was a bit boring in places... and Jar Jar Binks wasn't all that necessary.

Anyway, I wonder if when I see Mark Hamill next, will I see hum as Luke Skywalker or the Joker? :hmmm:

Rhodes

^So? Luke is a Yoda/Kenobi style character, grandma Leia and Solo is teaching his sons/daughters or grand-son/daughter how to be a scoundrel in the galaxy. Or just how do the Kesel run in less that 12 parsecs!

Yeah, but will Luke be using a Lighsaber and the Force or laughing gas and a beautiful insane woman who's madly in love with him and uses a giant mallet?

Your age is showing here.:O:

Just kidding but I found Episode I awfully boring, Episode II mediocre at best and I never bothered to watch episode three and don't feel like I've missed much. To me the three original movies are the only star wars movies. The new ones are in my opinion just a CGI fest with flat uninteresting characters, bad dialogues and poor story writing.:damn:

I like episodes 1,2, & 3. I think they did an excellent job setting up for episode 4. We basically knew what happened, but they really explained in detail. I think they were well written and entertaining. I agree the romantic bit between Padme and Anakin were boring, but needed.

Now about the new ones. It was my understanding, that episode 7 was supposed to be set shortly after episode 6. They were supposed to show Luke rebuilding the Jedis. Continued battles against the empire's military. The planets rebuilding the galactic senate. Then the last was to show everyone living happily ever after.

I doubt that new SW show will be for me. Abrams already ruined Star trek. Lucas' muppet show offers even bigger opportunities to mess up the original.

Also, I want back cute Natalie Portman. :yep: Say what you want, in SW she was lovely.

Well, the expanded universe has already make it not happily ever after. Fans wanted the Trawn saga, the Dark Empire story, etc. But all of that have the carathers young!
