But quite exciting though. From Pearl to Midway those carriers fought and when Midway was over not only did they die but so did Japan's hopes of ever having a chance of winning the Pacific war.

Yes, quite short wartime careers of the big four carriers. Of interest to SH4 boat captains, you might want to plan a mission to see if you can change history. Be in the right place at the right time, avoid the DD screen, and watch a carrier force go down.

Already been done somewhat with the Run Silent Run Deep Campaign. Lurker fixed the stock battles and added quite a few that weren't in the stock game.

I am running RSRD. Is that different than RSRD Campaign?

Actually, that's the annoying part of the SH series. You can't change history in this regard. Even if you sink a major capital ship before it's historical demise, it simply "respawns" for any future battles it is scheduled to fight in. The only time it gets taken off the board permanently is when it was sunk historically.

But I can see why they designed it the way they did. Otherwise you have come up with a series of alternate historical paths for the war, depending on what ship gets sunk. A lot of work.

By starting a new campaign in the Asiatic fleet in 41 and catching them in the Bungo Suido right? I've done that before and it's quite fun.

Just out of curiosity, which mods do you guys use and what order do you load them?

For me it really depends on the mood i'm in. Right now i'm using the TMO compatible Iowa mod with a few extra bits loaded on.

I use RFB 2.0 and RSRDC along with various other odds and ends.

Right now, I'm not really playing - working on a mod which I hope will greatly improve RFB (at least in terms of the propulsion/movement physics).
