Ship sink sound overiding others

I had thought this a common bug and didn't question it until I saw this thread http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=211180. I don't even have the mod they are referring to and I have an increasing number of ships make the "ship sink" sound rather than any propeller noise. At first it was just one or two, I used to think that it was smaller ships sinking in the distance (bad weather etc). Now it seems to be every other ship. Any suggestions as to cause/solution?

I only have das boot sounds, GWX, a graphic user interface mod and commander installed.

I have noticed the same but with certain ships in M.F.M v3.2! Also, I read about it in another thread but can't find it!:hmmm:
