View Full Version : BT Infinity & Uplay problems
As stated in another topic I am having problems connecting to Uplay and the Ubisoft website www.ubi.com/uk/ (http://www.ubi.com/uk/)
After some investigation I believe that the problem is down to my isp provider I have BT Infinity.
Could anyone out there let me know if they are having similar problems if you also have BT Infinty.
Also would appreciate confirmation that Uplay and the Ubisoft websites are not down and can be accessed in the UK.
Thanks

Not Infinity, just bog-standard BT (that's what you get for living in the sticks) - and I can reach the site just fine.
I can't see how being on fibre can make the difference, but stranger things have happened. :hmmm:
Thanks for the assumption that I live in the sticks I actually live in a city centre 200m from my exchange.
However still cant connect.. oh the joys of online drm

Err, no, not you in Aberdeen - I live in the sticks hence no fibre with either BT or Virgin - just the bog-standard 700 kbps for me if I'm lucky.
Sorry for that for that snappy remark, I clearly got the wrong end of the stick.
Its been a long day and have been having a hard time getting this game working.
Once again apologies :)

I have BT Infinity and I've not been able to connect to uplay since yesterday either.

The uplay issue may be on the ubisoft side, especially if everything else (internet generally and things like origin or steam) is running without issue. The other side of the coin is that this is probably the most sorry excuse for a retail product i have ever personally seen in 20 years of PC gaming. It very well may have something to do with that fact rather than you're internet specifically.

Yep, you nailed it. UBI did the same with SH3 by putting Starforce in it. Supposedly copywrite protection totally messed up many computers around the world. Their UPlay requirement isn't as intrusive but still a way to protect their copywrite, and a totally unneeded RPITA. This DRM is used now in all of UBI's gaming software.
...the oceans may well be empty without ubi...:woot:
