As an experienced user of “Mods” I have noticed that some “Mods” seem to cause problems for the less experienced because of the way they are placed once they have been “Unzipped”.
This of course I am referring to as the “Folder within a Folder” situation.
I keep all my mods in one folder called “SH5 Mods” so when I get a situation like “TDW’s NewUI_7_4_2 Multi Mod” the first thing I do when I have unzipped the file is to “Extract” all the mods to my “SH5 Mods Folder” I can then see them all. When I want to use a mod I just copy it to my “Mods Folder”.
TDW’s NewUi is a collection of “13 Mods”.
Once you have unzipped the file you will see this:
NewUi’s_...
Open this.
You will then see.
Dials (Also contains a text “Readme”)
Mods.
Texts (If you require a different language from English)
Open the “Mods Folder” and you will see the 13 mods.
Highlight the “1st mod”.
Hold down the “Shift Key”
Highlight the “Last Mod”.
Click on “Extract”
All the mods should now be “Highlighted”.
You will notice that the path showing is the same path where you “Unzipped” the mod.
Click ok.
You will now see all 13 mods available individually without having to “Unzip” each time you want to look at one.
Mod 1. NewUI’s_TDC_7_4_2_AltAdvSpeedGraphics_By_Naights
Mod 2. NewUI’s_TDC_7_4_2_alt_officer_wounded_by_Torpedo
Mod 3. NewUI’s_TDC_7_4_2_ByTheDarkWraith (Main Base Mod)
Mod 4. NewUI’s_TDC_7_4_2_Das_Boot_Crew_Mod_by_Illyustrato r
Mod 5. NewUI’s_TDC_7_4_2_ERM_Reaper7_NightVision
Mod 6. NewUI’s_TDC_7_4_2_ ERM_Reaper7_NightVision_Black_Skin
Mod 7. NewUI’s_TDC_7_4_2_jimimadrids_map_tools
Mod 8. NewUI’s_TDC_7_4_2_new_radio_messages_German
Mod 9. NewUI’s_TDC_7_4_2_No_Snorkel_Exhaust_Smoke
Mod 10. NewUI’s_TDC_7_4_2_RadCaptools_0_2_alpha
Mod 11. NewUI’s_TDC_7_4_2_Real_Navigation
Mod 12. NewUI’s_TDC_7_4_2_Scopes (do not enable – read)
Mod 13. NewUI’s_TDC_7_4_2_WWIIInterface_by_Naights
The “Main Base Mod” is in “Folder 3”
It is these 13 Mods that have the “Data Folder” that you need for the game.
Copy the “Main Mod Folder 3” in to your SH5 "Mods Folder”
You should now see this on the left side of “JSGME”
Right click on the mod with your mouse.
Right click on "Explore"
If you can see the “Data Folder” you will now have a working mod once you enable it.
Any additional mods you want to use put behind the “Main Base Mod”.
If you intend to use “Real Navigation” make sure this is not over written in “JSGME” Put it last if possible.
You will also need to make changes in TDW’s Generic File Patcher” and in TDW’s Option File Editor Viewer” to use “Real Navigation”.
You may wish to do the same with the “Dials” “Highlight them all” and “Extract” so you can see each one of them.
Always check the mod for additional information and the “Readme” Text Documents.
Good luck Peter
