The very best of British luck to you Sir, may you be Admiral of the Fleet in no time!
Also, if you are asked if you would like to see the Golden Rivet, politely turn down the opportunity for the sake of your chuffer!:salute:

Tell them you are a well trained Kaleun of the German Kriegsmarine, very successful in sinking British ships. I'm sure your naval experience will be of advantage and you'll soon make friends in the RN.

If you're trying to get into the RN this is a good first step. Further tips from my own experience:
Practice watching Das Boot until you can finish the actors' lines (in German) to impress your collegues
Unlock the Type XXI before you start for additional prestige
Grow a scraggly and unecessary beard that makes you look like Shaggy off Scooby Doo
Practice getting drunk and falling off a gangplank

The first time you go to sea, sneak up on the officer of the watch in the early hours of the morning and shout at the top of you voice:
WE HAVE HEAVY FLOODING, SIR!
This will ensure your career in the RN will be long and profitable.:03:

In the latrine duty :yeah:
I think that anyone considering a career in the Royal Navy might be well advised to avoid the subject of gaming or rapping - remembering one of the darkest days in modern Royal Navy history! (http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2011/sep/19/submarine-shooting-sailor-murder-officer)

All i did in the navy was watching das boot, screaming at each other, smoke and scare the **** out of somalian pirates with a 40mm cannon.
That was untill i got in the submarine force, there you would scare with torpedoes.
Greets and best of luck

Good luck!
I was three times inside the chanel with U17/S196 and we "played" with the anti-sub-ships of the Royal Navy. The excercise was called FOST (means first officer sea training). In 9 of 10 tries we sunk (simulated) them or escaped.
When we were invited to a british port, we played "Den Tipperary Song" when we went inside - funny thing because all other guys looked very angry towards us :hmmm: (i donīt know why).
Try to get a job as radioman. On german subs they have the best job for lower ranks (the best job is to be "Der Alte", of course).
