So I'm playing the Baltic campaign over again, trying to do it correctly. I identified the task force, dove to ~ 60m and positioned myself to slide into the mouth of Danzig harbor to take out incoming/outgoing merchants. My hydrophone operator got an unidentified sound contact. Figured i would hop to periscope depth, i look in the direction and its a submarine. At first glance i thought for sure it must be a friendly u-boat. After i got closer and was able to take a better look i realized there was no way in hell it was! I blew the tanks and put a few HE rounds w/ my deck gun through her conning tower and down she went! Talk about intense! :D

Congrats RTB! I've done the same with a Brit sub in a British Supply mission on a previous install of SH5 that I lost. It's a surprise just to see another Allied sub let alone sink it.

Sober, I'll have to check when i get off work. Had a line of duty death service i had to go to this morning so i haven't been able to get back on since late last night.

GT, thanks for the encouragement! I was astonished at first....i spent a good 2-3 minutes stalking her and taking care that she was in fact not german. I even paused and went online to ensure that the shape of the submarine were correct ( i didn't know what it was until after i sunk it)! Talk about intense!
