Hey, never heard about the famous "depth charge umbrella" maneuver?
That one in which you run fast as hell passing under a sinking ship while in the meantime, on surface, a destroyer start ****ting on you? No? :stare:
Well, that could work, if you ask me... :har:
Funny pick, btw.

I've had it happen to me before, recently even closer than that. So close I had just assumed I was done for. Saved by the sheer power of the XXI thrusting forward.
At one time, while playing the XXI SP scenario, I actually took cover underneath a slow sinking escort carrier, so I could wait for the tubes to reload. Two escorts were waiting for me, front and aft respectively.
And yes I nailed the one in front. Knowing it would accelerate furiosly the moment my torp went active, I over-compensated for it.
All thanks to external cam, a luxury RL crews never had.

A few times, caught in shallow water off of the east cost of England, I have sunk a ship and then parked next to it underwater while it sits on the bottom with its masts sticking out. Escorts will not approach and will merely circle. You shoot them as they cut across your bow. And hope you eventually hit them before you run out of eels.
