Found this by chance. In German Playstore at least, in each category one title is free, so that you can check what it is about.
There are two or three cosims in traditional John Tiller style available in every category: American Civil War, WWII, and Cold War, plus one game about air operations.
I have downloaded but still not played the free games, but checked the screenshots. The game interfaces look like what you see in Tiller's cosims when played on PC. Which would make these games then quite complex titles compared to the ordinary standard of Android games.
But then, as I said, I so far just downloaded them, but have not checked them indepth. I know - for PC - Moden Campaigns: Danube '85, which was featuring an epic map of the complete European front (65,000 hexfields).

All the cool looking ones are expensive!
I will try these out. Looks like a good timekilling game. :yeah:

This is The Wargamer'S review and video on the iPad version of the Civil War game. It seems the title shares the same strengths and weaknesses as the PC version.

The general scheme seems to be that Tiller releases the core engine and some demonstration and training scenarios as a demonstration for free, then sell mission packs and individual scenarios for money. That sounds like a fair deal to me.

I have dived into Modern Air Power a bit now, and am surprised. Under the simple looking surfaces lies quite some depth. Think of it as Harpoon for air operations. There are over a dozen tutorials and some additonal scenarios, i assume the PC modules Vietnam and Middle East Conflict will come as payware sooner or later, this free pack now is only the teaser and explains the basic concepts behind the game. There really is more detail in it then one would assume at first glance. Tiller claims there is a thorough database on sensors and weapons working in the background.
Comparing screenshots from the PC version with the one for Android and iPad reveals how close the two games are.
All games can be run in wide and narrow screen mode. Tablets obviously work best. a 7" tablet I would consider to be minimum, since on phones it all becomes too harsh to handle.
Hint: the full manual is available from the help-menu as an online-html. You can check it in full here:
