(3:01) Drifting after the engine failed, the Spanish cargo ship Luno broke in half after it crashed into the breakwater at Anglet, France. All 12 crew were winched to safety by helicopter. (http://www.boreme.com/posting.php?id=39239#.UvusdPsWksJ)

No loss of life :yep:
Good job
But the insurance companies and the employer are going to have such a masacre with the captain and chief engineer they'd wished they went down with the ship

No loss of life is always good but top marks to the chopper pilot.

No tugs for this? the sea is a bit level 8 (Heavy crests) on the Beaufort scale but the chap on the line is not blowing beyond vertical so a line could be fired across.

No doubt scared out of the seas by one of these:

looks somwhat benign beyond the jetties. my guess, trying to run an inlet with tidal currents ebbing against an opposing wind. looks like a lite ship, a lot of sail area, heavy following sea, reduced steerage. poor control of boat, broached WAM hits jetties.

At least all the crew got off safely, so very well done to the chopper crew :yep:
