Just heard of it for the first time, and what I heared and read, sounds very good. However, being busy with AC, I see no point in spending time with another driving simulator at the same time as long as it is not really as good as AC.
They say it is a complete and polished hardcore simulation, bringing the ISI engine to the best use it has ever seen.
I'd be interested in feedback, especially comparisons to AC regarding physics and the feeling of driving, GTR-2 regarding AI, and nKpro. Would this be 19 Euros well-spend? I know there is a free 60 min. trial, but it also is a 5 GB download that will block my machine for most of the day, so...

Rubens Barrichelo rates it. :yep: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LAzNN-ov1U (If you don't speak Portuguese turn on closed captions)
Looks dated, graphics wise, but could still be a lot of fun.

This hooked me, available as a mod.

I need a temporary replacement for the Norschleife as long as they haven't released it for AC in autumn. There is solid driving and physics but boring looks in nKpro; it looks acceptable in the two mods I had for GTR2 but I just cannot go back to that driving and physics model, and it looks well and drives badly in Race07. So I put my hope in that the driving and physics in GSC2013 is better.

:D
I currently have £16 spare . . . :hmmm:

Downloading now.
Don't use the link from the email - that was going to take some 11+ hours, use the mirrors (2 is in France), now taking just over an hour. :yeah:
But it'll still be another five or six hours until I can play.

That's me - I have downloaded the Schleife before I even have started to download the main program. :)
Use the link for the Schleife v 2.0 in the youtube explanations. Googling for "GSC Nordschleife" only leads you to two or three resources that offer the file version 1.0.
By chance I found that there is a gravel-track Nordschleife for Richard Burns Rally.

Already done. :D
I got it (2007 v2.0) via RaceDepartment, but wasn't overly keen on their site so would welcome any other GSC2013 mod resource site.
Edit: Got the Mini template, painted one already.

Oh that looks lovely if it's anywhere near realistic! :yep:

It rolls quite agreeably, doesn't it? Only mthe menu fior setting up the steering is a mess, the G27 standard options work terribly, and I still have not learne dhow to make steering more senbsitive as I would like it. But - all in all it works and runs fine.
The Nordschleife, a port from rF I think, indeed is the finest version I know, it looks good, and is quite bumpy where it should be, and challenging with ups and downs that are more visibly modelled than in other,. older versions of the Nords that I know. This alone has made me buy the sim.
Next is downloading the long, long road over that Romanian pass... It was Romania, wasn't it?
I think one could rate this sim as a secret tip for those whose hardware cannot handle AC. Physics feel nice indeed.

I still need to tweak some settings - just dived straight in and did terribly! Then I raced with Minis :D
Started late so didn't attempt wheel, just eggbox controller. Once I'm a bit more used to it I can see MP being a lot of fun.

Hell, this thing made me driving deep into the night. Which is a good sign.
Their FAQ says that one has to tweak the ini directly for optimal rotation settings of the wheel. Will check that in depth tomorrow. The wheel setup options are the only thing I must complain about right now, they are a serious minus point.
But the karts! Don't miss the karts! So much fun. And drive by night, the whole playground (the first one I tried) is nicely lit up!
Nordschleife by night also is nice.
Transfaragas will be downloaded over three days, No Grip has a download limit implemented since I visited it last time - several years ago .

I've just tried Nordschleife with Formula 3 and a Mini, both occasions I have crap power delivery - particularly with the Mini - starting 24th out of 24 I can keep up in the circuit, I got up to 11th, but once it heads out into the wilderness they leave me for dust, on the long straight alone near the end I lose about six seconds compared to the AI. In the Mini I rarely got into forth-gear, and never into fifth. Something's not right for me here.:hmmm:
That aside, the Nordschleife is beautifully done, top work guys.

They're only about 150 Mb each so shouldn't take very long. :sunny:

Archive 2 and 3 are corrupted, and the file names are messed up as well with one dot too much at the end where the correct indexing should be attached.
However, I got the route from valley to peak and reverse by copying only the first archive. I wonder what the others are needed for?
Fun to drive, but the AI has a very exotic pathfinding near the peak. Mostly drive slalom between bushes, and on its roof.

The first thing I learne dabout was where the speed limiter is. :)
The second thing was to reduce the AI level.
But I do not care that much for the AI anyway, the Schleife and the pass I want to simply drive or hotlap. Did like that for years in GTR2.
For the price, one cannot complain, I think. It's all in a ll a very solid and round package. And the karts are cute to race in, really great fun. I have driven karts some years ago, or better: singular, I drove a kart, during some occasion with friends. The kart track we had over here, meanwhile got demolished. I think they got the karts very right, acceleration, breaking and sliding: It's exactly as I recall it was.
