You can talk to my grandmother and several of my great aunts they all worked in the war industry during the war.One made shells of some sort another worked for Consolidated mainly on B-24's and my grandmother worked for a US Army supply unit in Indiana. One of her jobs was take a book that had pictures of every known prostitute in the area which she had soldiers who had come down with an STD look through so they could track down and cure the hooker so she stopped spreading STDs stopping the trade would have been an effort in futility.Repeat offends they'd have the local cops arrest and put in jail for a few months.
You'll not read about that in a history book but it is the truth they did this at every military base.My grandmother's job was pretty good digs above average pay and the commander lived in the same neighborhood in Kentucky so she got to ride to work in the staff car every day rather than ride the bus.

All credit to her and all the other women during the war who picked up the tools of manufacturing for the war effort whilst the men were away fighting :sunny:
