Yep, JSGME a 'must have' for most.

Here are good answers to the same question that lists most of the big ones:

Also, not to forget Websters Game Fixes Only mod:

Download and install JSGME according to these directions found here:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=171237&highlight=jsgme

There are many mods some are for playing as the Americans and some are for the German U-boat.

A big issue is making sure what mods you use are compatible with each other and in orders that give you the best performance.

Generic Mod Enabler - v2.6.0.157
1_TriggerMaru_Overhaul_2-5
1_TMO_25_small_patch
RSRDC_TMO_V502
RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1
Traveller Mod v2.6 TMO
#1 Real Environment mod install
Traveller Mod 2.6 Patch 1 - ISE v3 Patch
#4 Warships retextured
Traveller Mod 2.6 No Midway Transfer
Traveller Mod 2.6 No DC Camera Shake
Traveller Mod 2.6 Larger Search Patterns
Traveller Mod 2.6 Harder Enemy AI Escorts
Traveller Mod 2.6 Automatic Ship ID
Traveller Alternate Main Loading Screens
Convoy Routes TMO+RSRD
tambor198's TMO+RSRDC missions pack

This is my list of mods and with that those first seven need to be in that order for best performance. Some mods that change minor settings can go after but ALWAYS check the documentation of the mods your installing. Never assume two mods will work with each other.

Read, read, read. The two most common issues skippers have playing this game is that they do poor installations of the game itself and the second is they run incompatible mods or in poor listing order. Then they complain about poor performance.

Any number of issues can arise from crashing to desktop to unloadable saved games so save yourself some aggravation and read everything you can about your mods, their compatibility with other mods and trouble shooting issues you will find listed through the forum.

There are many helpful suggestions, tips and tricks for installs and game play. If you have any trouble please ask and I am sure someone can point you in the right direction for assitance.

Yes, welcome.

I've thought about your question, and my favorite mod (campaign) is the "Guerrilla Submarines Spyron Mod"
Found here - along with some other nice mods:

You can use the "Guerrilla Submarines Spyron Mod" on a Stock (unmodified) SH4 v.1.5 - Gold edition, or I believe it is compatible with RFB, TMO, and for sure it is compatible with Websters GFO mod.

All missions are historically accurate, they really happened, and there are no bogus 'sail into Tokyo Bay recons' in this mod.

So, that's my recommendation for a nice place to start.

I took a look at this and it looked pretty good and downloaded.
Looks like it might be worth a try. Thanks for posting.

From the web page text description of the mod it appears to be a great enhancement. Must it be used alone?

Is it compatible with other mods?

It is compatible with Stock v.1.5 (Gold), Websters GFO (Game Fixes Only) mod, should be with RFB (Real Fleet Boat), a personal modded install - I call mine, "Mod Soup", and TMO however with TMO there may be issues losing the NARWHAL & TENCH class boats because Flotillas.upc & CareerStart.upc need to be changed.

It is not compatible with Campaign mods, it is a Campaign itself, so probably not compatible with RSRD.... because:

Of major importance it must be installed last and overwrites:

In Data\UPCData\UPCCampaignData it overwrites:
CareerStart.upc
CareerTrack.upc
Flotilas.upc
PatrolObjectives.cfg

In Data\UPCData\UPCLocalization it overwrites:
UPCLocalization.tsr

And the entire Campaign.

It is compatible with any mod that is not adversely affected by overwriting these specific files listed above.

It adds numerous Naval Bases as the US advanced toward The Empire, the Panama Canal, and Sofu Gan.

It is a joy to play & is historically accurate.

I appreciate that comprehensive reply.

I'm running a campaign mod on each of my two installs, so will have to wait.

I'm British in the "We Dive At Dawn" mod -- love it.

I'm American in the "Fall of the Rising Sun" campaign mod - also great. Plus two careers in the U-Boat side.

Yes, I know I could put on another vanilla copy and so on, but...

I'm running SH3 and SH5 as well.

That's a lot of underwater fun! :arrgh!:
