"Behold the Severodvinsk—the pride of the Russian Navy, the first of the post-Soviet era Yasen-class submarines. It entered service at the end of December 2013 and it will replace the old Akula-class and Alfa-class subs. But unlike those warships, and thanks to a new cruise missile, the Severodvinsk has strategic and tactical nuclear weapon capabilities."

Congratulations to them. They should have concentrated their money onto building this rather than Boreis. Nuclear deterrence should be done on the cheap these days.

They should have concentrated on non-military things instead of crap like that. Cold War never ends it seems, so does the nuclear arm wrestling.

People starve and freeze to death in that (and other) countries, yet they build new military toys instead of fixing their crappy infrastructure.

And stop sinking your old subs in the Baltic sea, ffs! :nope:

That's why I added (and other) to make clear that Russia isn't the only one.
Oh but to answer your Question... Bhutan?

Spends 1.8% of their GDP on the military, that's more than Canada! :haha:
The lowest is Iceland, at 0.01% and the highest is Eritrea at 20.9%!

Defence is the most basic, essential and fundamental social service provided by the State.

Some of the profile photos do in some weird way remind me of disney's nautilus. It looks like a predator.

Wonderful pictures, and submarine. I'm not familiar with current submarine classes, but God, what a huge dreadful death machine. And those wonders look even better in winter, got to see some pics of the Kursk (if I remember correctly) in the Arkhangelsk area... Too bad I can't find that stuff right now, such a monster cruising in its own environment looked impressive, deadly... But still pretty poetic in a way, partly covered with snow. :yep:

:rotfl2:Anyone who didn't catch the Star Trek cartoon at the bottom of the article should look at it. It's the funniest thing I've seen in months.

You got to hand it to the Russians though, those curved sails do look damn sexy, always liked them. :yep:

Every time I read about a new sub or a new military vessel I always think

How well could it stay undetected or how well can it dectect a sub(if it is a ship created for this)
