Since I have map updates turned off, I am having to resort to using the radar manually. On rare occasion I will receive notification from the radar officer about a contact on a bearing, but very rarely.
I notice that with the radar that has the rotating mast that you can spin the radar wheel when at the radar station. You can click on one side to make it go one way, and click on the other to go the other way. You can read the bearing on the dial.
I notice that it is difficult to see targets on the scope. Even when they are well within visual range you often do not get a "hit" on the scope when you change it from constant sweep to manual sweep and set the bearing to where you can see the target visually.
And often when you do get a hit it will suddenly vanish from the scope.
I wonder if in the simulation the antenna keeps spinning even if you have it set to manual sweep?
