Yes you could do that or you can try my snapshot... http://www.mediafire.com/download/mhbifdt7i43a3r4/zadnja.rar
Thx I ll give it a try :). As long as I get my rewards, I don t mind about bars or dates. Still confused what files to look so many containing tonnage andthose linked to my career say 0 everywhere.

Try to restart new campaign with advanced patches disabled, I cant think of anything else...It seems that problem is completely random. Also , take a look at Theberbster's thread about tonnage bar issues...

Hi Husksubsky

Quote > Do I need uplay?

Unfortunately the answer is yes.

The Ubisoft Game Launcher that launches Uplay is there to check that you are using a verified version of the game.

Quote > Could I try sobers tonnage fix snapshot?

Sober admits that the change he recommended does not work.

Quote > Or are there stuff in your patchchoises that needs to be as it is cause of your modsoup

Unfortunately again none of this is the cause of the problem.

Quote > As long as I get my rewards

Rewards you mean bonus points?

These are linked to the number of ships sunk.

Ending the patrol at your base each time you need supplies will give you any bonus points the next time you start your game again.

My tutorial Post #71 on Page 5 explains.

This will give you a new Autosave Enter Base (AEB).

This AEB reduces the amount of data that would have been carried forward if you had refitted.

This new AEB may also help if you have been having the 0000-00-00 corruption problems as you have a new starting point.

To offset the 14 days default bunker turn around time you can use the mod 'Change Days In Bunker' to reduce the number of days.

To put any tonnage bar issues to bed once and for all check out my tutorial on Post #188 on Page 13.

This has all the instructions so you can enter the tonnage and ships manually.

Next time you load the game you will see the tonnage bar has increased accordingly.

I think also you could complete the Baltic Mission without ever leaving the bunker by editing the Baltic in the Campaign CFG file.

If i choose to disable TDW's real navigation would i end up screwing things up? Just curious...i think w/ RL i bit off a bit more than i can chew having not played the game in over a year D:

Hi RTB

Real Navigation is only an optional mod.

End your patrol

Exit the game

Real Navigation will not be over written in JSGME so is easily disabled.

If you made any changes in TDW's Options File Editor Viewer (OFEV) in the Real Navigation tab then you will also need to disable TDW's NewUi base mod as well for the OFEV to accept your changes.

If you have to disable TDW NEWUi base mod as this will be over written then you can use mep files as an easy way to do it.

I would use 2 mep files

Mep file 1 stays untouched.

Delete TDW's NEWUi base mod in mep file 2 and load in JSGME.

When you have made finished the changes in the OFEV

Load mep file 1

If you are not sure how to do this then see my Tutorial Post #5

in TDW's Generic File Patcher you will need to disable the Real Nav menu.txt entries.

If you selected Realistic when you started your career then there will be a record of this showing in the following
Documents
SH5 folder
data folder
CFG folder
SaveGames folder
Go to your last saved game > date and time
UPCInitial
Career Track
CareerDifficulty= < probably shows 'realistic' could be changed to 'Hard'?

Whether changing this or not makes a difference I do not know, probably not.

Maybe someone will have an answer whether it is relevant or not?

You should be able to load your game from the new Autosave Enter Base

Thx guys. By rewards I mean all that comes with sinkings. Offer of new boat is important. campaign complete, points to crew, medals, and clap on the shoulder after complete campaign is less important but fun.
I have looked through tutorial, but obviously not lonh enough .
Will do now

I do tc 1 sometimes when I have other things to do as well..like it:). but usually travel 64x. Thats slow enough to get the feel u have to use time to get somewhere.

Anyways I read through the tonnage tutorial again and I m very optimistic :). Must have been veery tired and frustrated last time I scooped for solutions.

Not necessary. The base mod has to be disabled if you want to edit some hotkeys only, as far as I noticed...

That may be the case, I also had problems with destroyed marks, I just couldn't get rid of them. But everything else seems to work fine. It's also important to edit one tab at the time and then save and reload the file, otherwise changes wont be saved from some reason...

Hi vdr

With regards to your last post it looks like I will have to try again then.

I disabled the binoculars cross hairs and it made no difference.

I enabled the Nomograph to true so it would appear when the game loads and you go to the nav map.

It made a fleeting appearance and then disappeared.

Will try again tonight.

I've run into a bit of a problem with this mod. Installed everything (except real navigation) via JSGME and ran the TDW generic patcher.

But no matter what options I use ingame I can't seem get map updates (icons) on my ingame map.

Any ideas?

EDIT: problem fixed. Forgot to edit map options.

Almost everyone have this problem. (well not my mom for example but all who play sh5).
The berbster have a tutorial. He gave me link just look on page 84. Theres also a thread for it. I have stopped trying, but will use Berbsters go around.
Hers the thread, but nobody has a solution. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=215401
the go around http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=2284492&postcount=188
Ive tried several reinstalls, and almost all suggestions to make it work as intended but no joy. I got another exe snapshot from VDR1981 and that solution has worked for some but not for me. (just disabling some advanced options. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=2292476&postcount=1247 (thx anyway VDR :) )
We all are sure this has something to do with ubisoft/DRM/ Uplay/savegamessync.It also appears in stock game.
I never had the problem until it appeared less than a yr ago
If you look around the tutorialand the thread , u ll find different suggestions. I might have done something not correct, but nothing worked so far. Even if I go offline and disable cloud sync, I still get message savegames are synced with cloud when starting game..
I just saved my game and are about to try the go around for the first time

EDIT: Just finished manual go around and it works like a charm. needed some mins to familiarize, but then it was easy. I put both tonnage and ships at CRT. is the tonnage there totally disregarded? I think maybe I get new ship faster.. or medals or..:)..
Notised that "has completed " is false. guess that change after enddate. All my killings where recorded at careerprogress file even before my adjust.

No no its easy .take time to look at theberbsters link and follow instruction. Its simply to change two numbers under current (crt) tonnage and ships sunk. Actually only one of them. Might fiddle a bit to find ur patrol, berbsters info is general. Baltic operation is bottom on my "campaign.cfg." prob on yours too.:yeah:just use notepad
I might have made things look complicated by linking to all maybe this and maybe that regarding the tonnagebar/missioncomplete problem. All you need is that last link of theberbster.

THEBERBSTER

It is only 1 change in the CRT.

Ships or Tonnage.

Just update after exiting the game when you have sunk something.

You never have to worry about the tonnage bar again as you control it.

Hi milky

Quote > So is the Tonnage bar removal on purpose or a bug?

The tonnage bar not filling has been a problem for many of us over the past year.

I do not know enough about the workings of SH5 to say if it is a bug.

Highly unlikely as bugs are usually already there and SH5 was working ok without any problems for years.

Mostly likely a Uplay problem, possibly from an update?

I first noticed it happening around the same time I was getting windows error messages that started to appear when trying to log on to Uplay.

Might just be a coincidence.

Quote > How do i complete the campaign without the Tonnage bar?

The tonnage bar has no impact on completing Missions and Campaigns.

Missions/Campaigns are date controlled and come on and drop off as the dates change.

Quote > If it's on purpose, what purpose did it serve to remove it?

Removing it makes sense and vdr should be commended for finding a way to do it.

He also made it possible to put it back on to TWOS for those who still want to use it.

The tonnage bar is an irritation when sometimes it works and other times does not work.

It would also appear that some ships sunk count and others do not.

These ships are still counted in the Captain’s Log so why not on the tonnage bar?

The tonnage bar can be manually changed for those who still want to use it and keep an accurate record for any ship sunk.

Peter

I understand this as tonnage is not needed for completing stuff either. We must differ between actual tonnage and tonnage bar right?

Baltic was ammountships, but the next along british coast completes with tonnage right? and if I don t complete it and don t get enough medalthingys filled the hole coastal waters might end as failure. (what impact that has on new boat etc I don t know).

I agree however with removing the bar and I m gonna cheat like no tomorrow.
was I supposed to not sink a british battleship east of scapa just to take merchant close to Narvik?
I almost made it but was some hours late (rearming) and got the hole coastal operation as failure. This couple yrs ago

Sorry for the word stuff. we have mission objectives, campaigns and..patrols? I got missionobjectives as green and completed, but had to use ur excellent tutorial to get..whatever completed and get that little medal filled under coastalwaters banner up in left corner on map

EDIT:British Eatern coast was the name an d we have to sink 70 000 tons. Can we call this Macroobjective? missionobjectives not to be mixed with those 70 000 tons. To get campagin succdeed, I understand we need a certain ammount of Macroobjectives completed. And to get that Macroobjective completed we still need the tons (by sinking or typing) . We need the tons , but not the Tonnage bar, am I right?

Hi back Theberbster:salute:
In Captains log the game state mission objective wich might be to patrol an area, put a spy or something. This might be what navmapfeatures call strategic Objectives..( I have no red cross for my missionobjective to confirm that ATM.) The same navmapfeature call the 70 000 tons (l looked that up in the campaign.cfg file) for Macro Objective and we do need tons or filemanipulation to fulfill it. Macro objectives also get called campaign objective and we need them to succeed in campaign. so when you wrote

"The tonnage bar has no impact on completing Missions and Campaigns.

Missions/Campaigns are date controlled and come on and drop off as the dates change."

I got slightly confused. Although I understand that a VISIBLE tonnage bar is not needed to fulfill macro/campaign objectives.

Hi Tom

If there was no tonnage bar and I am referring to OHII you would not know what (tonnage/ships) would be needed unless you looked in the files.

If I remember correctly Stock does show you what you need to do and possibly the Lite Campaign also.

Without the tonnage bar you would just carry on sinking and re-supplying until the New Mission appeared on the map.

I am calling it Mission as that is what you request from the Flotilla Leader.

I would be inclined to call the Patrol Area the Grid Reference within the Mission or the area around the Yellow Icon.

If you failed all the Missions your loss would be bonus points and medals.

Whether promotions are involved I do not know as I have never been far enough in to the game to find out.

There is a boat upgrade during the Eastern British Coastal Waters when you go back to re-supply.

The game would continue to advance whatever you were doing in it as everything is date controlled.

End the Patrol and you see that Patrol name comes up again.

You can end the Patrol every time you re-supply.

But you do not start a New Mission as you are already in it.

The Mission only finishes when it drops off the map even though you may have completed it early.

It confuses many as they do not understand why they have not got a New Mission showing on the map.

Might be of some help, just my notes.

I think the square is the one in the the bay!

My attack position was I laid up in the lagoon during the day and came out in the evening turning left and hugged the coast line.

There is a merchant opposite the entrance to the port moored that I had to pass and rounded it and came through between him and the coast on the left side.

The first BB is surprising close to the coast on the left.

The other BB is a short distance further up and off to the right.

Hi vdr

Don't forget our discussion is about making changes or a change with the main mod enabled.

No problem with the main mod disabled.

Hi Guys. I need your help, im getting some CTD's right after i enable the "wolves of steel 1.03", on the welcome screen the red bar only get's to half of it and then it crashes. This doesn't happen on the stock SH5 with the 1.20 patch. It's a clean install, and even the pc was been formated right now and have all the drivers updated.

Here are my computer specs

Solved by myself. Didn´t used 7zip to extract the files. Installed everything again and now used 7zip no CTD.

Hi vdr

Checked out Step 7.

I am running it as a stand-alone and not within SH5.

We both set the same path for menu.txt

We both set the same data/scripts/menu for TheDarkWraithUserOptions.py

You do it from the inside and I do it from the outside that is the only difference.

So it looks like if your running it inside then you can change it with disabling.

I am presently doing the Total Germany campaign on the Eastern British Coastal Waters mission.

I was given grid AN7932 to patrol for 48 hours with a patrol radius of 80 kilometers.

After getting 2 Merchants in the patrol area and 72 hours later, there has been no reposition order.

I decided to head up to Scapa Flow before the mission end date, got the Capital ships and then headed back to the waters inside the EBCW map line.

I'm just wondering if lapsed time triggers the reposition order or is it the 70k tonnage requirement? (AN7932 is a fair way South of the EBCW red line area of operations)

Also escaping from Scapa Flow, the boat was nearly lost from damage due to an air attack. (the pilots have radar vision if the weather was anything to go by!):hmmm:

After several days of repairs, the boat is in sort of working order except every single analogue gauge is broken with all the needles pointing to the 12o'clock position.

Does anyone know what system controls all of these gauges and are they repairable without having to return to base?

Your thoughts on these question would be appreciated.......Regards :salute:

The first time i've used this megamod i also used winrar and didn't had any problems with it. But now, i've formatted my PC, and only after extract the files with 7Zip i could get the mod to work.

You can do it by yourself
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=2232771&postcount=890

Or you can try this mod and get only the page layout.ini that makes the button active again

- Officer Command „Identify Target“ activated (Page layout.ini) (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=215304)

That is a file that i've changed some time ago to get the button active again, but i don't have it with me anymore.

Its really a great mod and everything. Even I went on my first mission, starting in Memel.
After driving into Danzig bay, sinking 6 ships at all, I try to drive out to some home port.
I am dived as 2 polish destroyers are in the near and sonar reporting other contacts in big distance.
I have many savegames, so I tried various savegames to avoid the "1-second-going-to-desktop-crash-without-any-message".

But it crashes all the time when I try to escape the bay of Danzig.
I also restarted career, but it was with same results.

What can I do?
Is this known?
Help would be appreciated a lot

Not sure how this ties up, but recently I've had two situations where all save games including autosaves past a particular point were corrupted and just CTD when you try to load them.
The two things that were common before I had problems were.... an air unit that crashed in the vicinity of my Uboat that I did not get credit for,.... and a lot of savegames.

The first time this happened, after many unsuccessful attempts to get a save game that didn't CTD while loading, I did a complete reinstall and went from using my own mod list and installed "The Wolves of Steel" mod.

The second time this occured, I had just escaped out of Scapa Flow and was attacked by two Hurricane fighters that came out of the fog!:hmmm:
While trying to get below decks to crash dive, one of the planes exploded over the top of the boat and crashed. It was floating on the water in a lot of debris minus its wings and still roaring away like it was still airborne.
I thought for a minute that my useless, constantly disappearing flack gunner actually managed to hit something but after a fair while submerged, no credit was given for the aircraft.

At this point I saved the game and went to reload and had an instant CTD. Every time I tried to do a save after the crashed plane, it was corrupted and would instantly CTD. This also included the autosave games.
Once again.....a lot of previous saved games and a crashed, uncredited air unit in the vicinity.

I loaded an earlier saved game prior to the encounter with the aircraft and it worked.
I then deleted most of my save games except for the autosave enter base and a couple prior to the CTD's.
From this point the game is once again stable and all subsequent saves are working.

I'm not sure whether it is a memory issue with too many saved games or the program trying to find its missing plane or a combination of both that causes the save games to become corrupted and continually CTD.:nope:

I'm hoping one of the more experienced Subsimmers may be able to spot a bug if there is one... or give us some kind of explanation as to why this happens....

Regards......:salute:

Hi guys

These problems can arise when games are saved around destroyed units.

I am right of Hela allready and it seems more, that when I want cross some line from south to north. Destroyed units are 30km about away.
In the port of Danzig, I sunk alone 5 ships - no problems.

I dont know what to do...
Shall I delete some of my savegames?

Hi guys,

after few years I`m again back to the sea and Silent Hunter.

First of all, great job with this mode - one in one place nice done especially for noobs;)

And I have some questions about HUD and mechanics wich are new for me.

1. Shafts - is it work and how?

2. Tried activate some patches via GenericPatcher - great tool (step by step and after that I decide to DL some gps.gps from this link http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=2080306&postcount=1). Maybe I did something wrong because on the mini map I can see some strange "+" icon described: Look at this contact... Don`t know what is it:( And don`t how to get off that.

I`m after second full installation after cleaning my PC deep - Revounistaller did that for me;)

3. How to enable tutorials mission, Trevallys and TDWs? Few years ago it was simply. Go to Tutorial, pick mission, go to Historical find out this missin - Start, thats all. And now? Should I pickup them from Automatation icon ingame?

Last pic - nothing, can`t find out this mission (How to use speed finder).

The first time i've used this megamod i also used winrar and didn't had any problems with it. But now, i've formatted my PC, and only after extract the files with 7Zip i could get the mod to work.
Really. I got worried, so I took my folder with the packed mod extracted it in a new folder and put the patch 4. All extracted with rar and made a snapshot with jsgme. Eplaced with 7z extracted and got perfect match in snapshot.

Instalation instruction (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=2234791&postcount=912)

I tried and got it, but now i get CTD's and the speed buttons dont work (if i click in speed 1 or 2 or 3 or4... doesnt do anything, now only works keypressing 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,....).:/\\!!

Did you just copied the "page layout.ini"? Or the entire mod?

Dragon's addon it's for the 1.2 version of the wolves of steel, current one it's 1.3 with update to 1.4
Perhap's this is why you are getting these CTD's

My advice, uninstall dragon's addon and start a new career.

First i tried modify the file, and i had the problem speed buttons.

Second i copied only page layout.ini and the got CTD.

finally i copied original file from this mod, and goes fine again. But i added Stormys sound mod too, that mod modify sounds and also remap keywords keys, i saw that with shift + i, i have the identify target, so problem solved :salute:

Thank you so much for your help :yeah:

I m happy to see that my autoscript mod is included, however it doesn t work properly with the "sluggish" settings. I can tune the scripts if theres interest , and put out both a mod to be installed and the file to replace so its a free choice. Loads of files to be altered and tested so it might take some time.
I also made a patrolarea option where it just baffles slow and go up to recharge and get oxygen, but I never published it.
the somewhat annoying autorecharge upon surfaceing as to be enabled unless u do it manually to avoid batteries going down.
If theres no interest I just leave it :) (and make a messy fix for myself)

WOW....I just read the documentation in TWOS mod and realised that you are the author of "Patrolsearch autoscriptsV04".:yeah:

Not sure what you mean by "sluggish" settings, but I'm sure that any improvement on an already good mod has got to be a bonus!:D

Don't know if this is possible, but would there be any way to script the search pattern to continue with the original sequence after an inadvertent interruption like a crash dive due to an air attack etc?

If you have to dive, the surface run sector will remain submerged until the next scheduled surface run which uses up a lot of battery power.

It would be great if the automation could run the boat submerged for a short while on "Slow ahead" then to periscope depth for a look, then surface and continue from where it was interrupted.

Then again.... I think I'm just being lazy because I have to check to see that those annoying planes have gone before surfacing anyhow..:har:

Best regards.......:salute:

Hi there glad you like it :)

VDR said the boat is slow and sluggish and I like it. It s anyway different than it was when I used a Sober based soup and there are stuff that is out of sync.
-it uses too long to turn 90 degrees so it kinda changes direction 30 degrees per dive
-it starts to scan with scope 30 secs before the scope is at surface

If I just put bigger speed, the surfacetime is to short to keep battery up. EDIT: nopes, but recharge command must be fullfilled before tc64
Ive started the task though..

I dont think it s possible to solve that issue u mention, the scripts are not very advanced. I don t even remember where I read how the scripts work, but if you find it its not hard to experiment with them.My scripts file is added as a txt file aswell in documentation. I basicly just used Trevallys scripts and shuffled around with the commands. All with Trevallys blessings :yep:

Not all the searchscripts are mine only those that says "husks" . (and FEsearch..fueleconomysearch) I made them cause I wanted more options when travelling in potential hostile waters.

Happy hunting:salute:

EDIT the descripion is in TDWs new uis mod as a txt file under data/automation.

Regards Tom
Do not pay so much attention to tonnage objectives, every SH has some kind of tonnage objectives but they were invisible. And now they are invisible in SH5 too. I'm just finishing my Happy times campaign without single tonnage objective completed...I wont get Iron Cross probably but hey, we cant all be aces...

Anyone knows if using Rongels lifeboat mod breaks something? Apparently not but i would like to confirm.
I like Rongels lifeboats very much but game will repeatedly CTD in certain situations with this mod enabled, on my system en least. That's why I hesitate so much to add it in the megamod. If you like I can tell you how to test lifeboats with TWoS so you can report to me what's going on...

Hello, is there a way to remove Steelviking's mod from this collection? I just don't like the new color sets, can't play with it. Please?
You can add Ali's white interior for example but SilentMichael's interior is too complex just to be enabled after the megamod.

Coratios Radio Mod , Perhaps my favorite Radio mod .
Besides being so hard to lay your hands on has a glaring flaw ,, That you have to Keep a music cfg file on hand to replace the Games music cfg file with lest you CTD .. Its not hard but I remember having to figure this all out using the forums at the site it was hosted at ( which is closed btw ) .

In any case i Installed WOS and then Coratios ,,, it informed me that WOS had already changed the Music cfg file, was i sure?
and i said to myslf ... HMMMM !!!

SO ,I Installed Coratios first,
let WOS overwrite whatever it was that coratios messes up and has to be alterd by hand to prevent CTD and Voila .. You dont have to do ANYTHING else .As far as i can tell at the moment ,
Both work perfectly Simply By installing coratios first with no having to alter any CFG files by hand ..

WOS actually Fixes Coratios radio mod ..

To be honest i havent tested this very much at all ,, It loads and plays and the radio works , so far so good ..

WOS is epic btw ,
TWO friggin mods and I have huge beautiful game, I much recomend this product to all my friends and family .
Any radio mod should be compatible with TWoS, I could include some of them in the first place but that would increase size of the archive drastically...

Hello again fellow cap'ns.

I have a couple of problems that i could not solve by myself and my forum searches failed to return a proper solution for me. I would be very grateful if you could help me

Problem 1: Ship recognition manual (the book, SOAN) fails to filter by number of stacks (or chimneys :). When you try to filter by it, it shows no ships at all. Please see screenshot 1 below

Problem 2: RAOBF scale error. I think this has been mentioned earlier but i was not able to find a solution. In the tutorial RAOBF practice i measure the optical height and the optical length of the ship and find some discrepancies. These differences causes errors in measurements. For example measuring the optical height as 12 in my case instead of 10.6 (which was the value suggested in tutorial) returns a lower range. Please see screenshots 2 and 3 below

Yes, filtering doesn't work properly...I'll fix it when I learn how.

I don't know what tutorial says but angular height of that ship is ~12 deg which means that ships distance is about 1000m , everything OK there. Maybe tutorial scripts are optimized for different mission with different ship?

Make a few runs in lifeboats test mission. Enable free camera view and wait until all shooting stop. Then surface the boat and make some suicidal run on remain British ships. In similar situations I have CTD with lifeboats enabled, it's something AI related, not sure what.

Or start external cargo test mission, sink a few ships with torpedoes (don't use deck gun) , surface the boat and sail for some time around lifeboats...

Try this few times and report findings...

Hi Peter.....I've never managed to spot one running with lights yet. Sometimes you have to give up a good firing position to get a positive ID of the flag.
Recently I took a 7 klm+ manual shot in bad weather with 2 torpedoes at a Destroyer without any real expectations of success. I was pretty chuffed with myself when both torps hit the target smack on with spectacular explosions and fire .....only to find out later that it was a friendly Type34!!!!! Now I make every effort to be sure that it's the bad guys I'm actually sinking....:D

Has anyone been reassigned another grid to patrol after completing the required time within the allowed radius of the assigned grid?

I was doing the Eastern British Coastal Waters mission and completed the required time then stuck around some more waiting.

I then did the Scapa Flow mission before the end date expired and then returned to the assigned grid once again.(AN7953 near London from memory).

After weeks on station with more than the required 70k tons sunk, and without getting anywhere near the red EBCW line on the map, I gave up and returned to Wilhelmshaven with the Captains Log unchanged and mission incomplete.:wah:

I then had to edit the campaign files to be able to get the next patrol.

Regarding optional patrol grid missions I've noticed that they can't be completed if I save and reload the game AFTER I enter patrol zone area (in the Atlantic is 200km radius zone for 72 hours ). If I spend 72 hours in the zone without save /reload then mission will be accomplished and I'll be reassigned to another patrol area , maximum is three times...

And for your second problem , could you upload for me your last game save folder from Documents/SH5/data/cfg/ SaveGames?

First, I just see AN18 grid with no second pair of numbers visible anywhere, so I don't know where to look for the "14". In other words, I can get to AN18 easily, but I don't know where to look for AN1814.

Second, if I click on the "mission icon" nothing happens. While in the bunker it showed the location I was supposed to get but once in the boat clicking on the same icon has effect.

I'm not very expert at modding so I'm using Wolves of Steel megamod.

I've just sunk 2 ships within AN18 area but the objectives still show as incomplete.

What should I do?

EDIT: I've published the same post in Open Horizon II thread. My apologies but I do not know where this issue belongs.

And for your second problem , could you upload for me your last game save folder from Documents/SH5/data/cfg/ SaveGames?

Unfortunately I deleted all of my previous save games when I started my current patrol.

I try to keep the number of save games to a minimum as twice on previous patrols, (once prior to installing TWOS, and once after), all save games including autosave became corrupted after a certain point and would CTD when trying to load.

On both occasions that this happened, the two things common were: many save games and also an uncredited plane crash in the area.

Not sure if it was the number of saves or the crashed plane (saved well out of visual range) or both that caused the corruption, but after going back and finding a previous save that loaded and deleting the saves prior to and after,(and staying out of sight of any aircraft that might decide to crash just for the hell of it) the game seemed to work normally again.

With regard to the Tonnage bar and Campaign progression, has anybody just used the "Continue Campaign" option exclusively to reload their game from the start?

The reason I ask is that I decided to use this option on one patrol for the sake of "realism" instead of Sober's "Dead is dead" mod (which I gather is completely terminal):dead:

Everything including Tonnage bar, reposition orders etc was working perfectly until I decided to see if my Flack gunner had shown any signs of improvement after his promotion, by staying on the surface during an air attack.

Unfortunately for the the crew and I, he was still as useless as tits on a bull and we were promptly dispatched to the seabed on short notice with the autosave deciding to do it's thing right then. Lying on the ocean bottom, with batteries and anything else able to help us back to the surface ruined, boat full of smoke, sparks and seawater and all the crew flatly refusing to lift a finger to help including the cook, my resolve started to weaken and instead dying and becoming born again with a new career, I decided to load my save game!!

From that point on, all of the campaign progress automation stopped working. This game has so many files duplicated and triplicated throughout the various folders, I'm wondering if there is some other linkage to campaign progression that is now being bypassed with normal game saves under certain conditions that has been introduced by some small, inadvertent change somewhere within the file structure.

When I start my next patrol, I'm going to just use the "Continue Campaign" option to load the game and see if anything in the aforementioned observation is repeatable.

BTW....Fantastic to see Sober, Gap, Stormy and TDW visiting this forum during the past couple of days!!!:yeah:

You can press the "E" key or use the icon for charts in the upper RH UI to bring up the "User Charts" options dialogue. Scroll through to the Maps option, select this, and then select the grid overlay by scrolling through the lower options box.

Drag the Grid overlay onto the chart over the AN18 grid and zoom the nav chart until AN18 grid and the grid overlay are both roughly the same size. Use the drag feature on the edge of the overlay then to drag the edges to match the edges of the nav chart grid. You now have the position of your second group of digits.

I normally then grab the marker tool, place it over the required position then use the "E" key again to switch off the overlay so that you can use the marker to put an x on the desired spot. Grab the compass tool and draw a circle from that mark out to the required radius (80~200 klm?). You now have you patrol boundaries:up:

As for the incomplete objectives, vdr1981 has posted an explanation on how this works and a workaround a couple of posts back.

Use the "E" key, then grab the tab sticking out halfway up the left side of your screen and pull the Recon Manual out. Click on the categories arrow to whatever you want to look at then click on the cover to open...

Wow, I didn't know there were so many hidden charts!! Thank you!

As for the incomplete objectives, I thought vdr1981 was referring to strategic objectives, like "Eastern British Coastal Waters", not tactical ones like, like "Patrol this area."

I can confirm that too... Yesterday , I was attacked by Swordfish airplane, I managed to destroy him but plane crashed on top of the submarine and damaged my U-boat badly... I saved the game 10-15 km from that location but save become corrupted, CTD in the middle of loading progress. Fortunately, my previous manual and clean game save from few hours before worked just fine and I was able to continue mu campaign without any problems.

With such complex gamesaves as Sileent hunter's, it's really important to keep them , like sober said, as clean as possible, on the surface and without units (especially damaged or destroyed) in your rendering area which is 60 km around the player's sub in TWoS.

If you decide to use only "continue campaign" feature that means that game will always load your last gamesave, manual or automatic, so make sure to always manually make clean gamesave before you decide to exit the game.

It's not good at all to use continue campaign if your last gamesave is autosave from some skirmish ...

I've updated my tips for stable gameplay, make sure to follow those notes and you'll have stable (enough) gameplay to enjoy campaign to the end of the war. For example, I've managed to finish, first two campaigns (Total Germany and Happy Times) with something like 180.000 tons and with only one random CTD and you should know that most of current day smart phones are more powerful then my PC...(AMD Athlon 5000+, 4GB DDR2, 8800GT)

Tips for stable gameplay:

- DO NOT add any additional mods if you are not 100% sure what you are doing! Especially not the mods which contains sim files...
- Avoid using autosave gamesaves. They become easily corrupted.
- Never overwrite old/previous game saves. Always make a new one...
- Keep your gamesaves clean. Try not to save game with AI or destroyed/damaged (especially airplanes) units in your rendering area. (60 km around the sub)
- Occasional save and complete restart of the game during long patrols is highly recommended (at least 5-6 game restarts per patrol)!
- Game save with complete restart of the game at the beginning and at the end of each patrol (approx. 100-200 Km from home port) is recommended. This will improve game stability and further reduce number of random CTD's.
- Avoid gamesaving and using high time compression while bunch of things is happening around you, let's say 32/64 at max (deck gun attack, attacking large convoys, approaching ports ect...).
- I'm not 100% sure about this but it seems that SH3 user interface is more stable then SH5 interface. You can switch this using TDW Options File Editor.
- When things seem quite, surface the boat, recharge your batteries, load torpedoes and...save the game... (You can prepare special meal for your crew as well);)

Hi Alexsej

All Missions are date controlled.

In other words they come on and drop off the navigation map depending on their start and finish date.

See my tutorial post for the dates and other information Post #64.

If you finish your Baltic Mission early you will not see or be able to select Eastern (British Coastal Waters) until the 4th of September.

If you copy the entire (pristine) Silent Hunter 5/ Data/ Sound/ Music folder prior to installing any mods, you can just rename or delete the music folder and paste your pristine one back in it's place after you install all the mods.

I always keep a pristine copy of the entire 1.2 version of the game on my computer so you always have easy access to the original files if things go pear shaped...:D

SO i installed this mod followed the instructions. I haven't installed the Real navigation with JSGME. The game runs fine and i can see my sub on the map. Now the issue i'm havign is the minimap at the bottom left corner is dissabled... how do i enable it again? And secondly When i click on my sub to give it waypoint orders well... It dosent do anything asthough my waypoints are dissabled due to Real navigation... but i din't even install RN. So what i'm asking is for help and how to renable those features.

Just a quick question. I am in Danzig Bay wrecking the Polish :O:, but with no progress bar, I will fail every objective I get.
Silent Hunter 5 patrol system and objectives is heavily built around the progress bar, so we can keep track of the deadline, and how we are doing.
I know this "gives" the game the good old SH3/4 feel, but with the SH5 game mechanics, it's just not right.

Is it possible to bring the bar back, whithout reinstalling the mod?

Tell me, how do you play the game with no progress bar? Do you just fail every objective, and not give a damn?

Regarding optional patrol grid missions I've noticed that they can't be completed if I save and reload the game AFTER I enter patrol zone area (in the Atlantic is 200km radius zone for 72 hours ). If I spend 72 hours in the zone without save /reload then mission will be accomplished and I'll be reassigned to another patrol area , maximum is three times...

at 60 meters a second translates to 117 knots :haha:

This seems a little bit ridiculous to me. I'm thinking other than the ramdom Gale or hurricane I shouldn't be seeing over 40-50 knots of wind. Spent over a year of my life during two deployments on a ship. Only once saw winds over 50 knots.

60 m/s wind speed patch is disabled with one of the TWoS patches. Read the documentation and restore the snapshot again...

So does patch 4 include patches 1,2,3? or do I have to enable all 4?

Unfortunately I don't know what "restore the snapshot" means? I saw it in your Step 6 of installation but for the life of me can't figure it out. I know how to use everything else, since I've been using it for awhile. What is a snapshot?:06:

finchOU
03-26-15, 04:31 PM
Okay you mean the snapshot in JSGME I see, but I really don't know how to use that.

I also read your Patch 4 post and see that it is ALL inclusive.

So why do I have problems with 60 m/s wind then if I installed correctly? :hmmm:

I really don't get it. I made a clean install of SH5 then followed your directions to a T...minus the "restoring the snapshot" part in step 6.

My understanding of snapshot is just a way to make sure you don't corrupt the game files by taking a snapshot of the file prior to installing a mod, then comparing the modded files to make sure they jive? So why do I need to "restore a snapshot" if the only modding I'm doing is your MOD?

I guess I'm so used to just uninstalling/re installing every time I want a new MOD or patch. Can you enlighten me?

TDW generic patcher is crucial for SH5. Without it, everything is useless. You must learn how to handle it. There is a link on how to use TDW generic patcher tutorial in the first post. In short , you have to show to TDW patcher where your SH5 foleder is ( for every patch, 9 times aproximately,) and than to restore snapshot.

Hi Shaefer

See my tutorial post #188 for Total Germany ship and tonnage objectives.

Baltic 2 Merchant ships

Eastern British Coastal Waters 70,000 tons

Breaking The Fortress 1 Capital Ship

North Western Approaches 80,000 tons

South Western Approaches 90,000 tons

Operation Wesserubung 5 ships in the Narvik Area

Operation Wesserubung 2 British ships entering Norways territorial waters

You just need to look a the first 'amount' setting as you do not have the tonnage bar.

Tutorial post#113 also has some additional information that you may find interesting.

This spoiler isn't so necessary because he doesn't need to "pass" them all and chase tonnage at any cost... That's the whole point of removed tonnage bar.

is there a mod to change the periscope depth? The strange thing is, that in the submarine cfg of WoS the setting is 12 meters, but when I go down in the game it shows 11 meters...I also prefer a deeper periscope depth for stormy weather so that the coning tower doesnt break through.

Hi vdr

I totally agree with you.

The point I was trying to make is, you would like to know what the objective would have been if you still had the tonnage bar.

You would be curious to know whether or not you would have achieved the objective.

The tonnage bar gave a sense of purpose to the game.

Roaming the seas for weeks or months on end seeing missions coming on and disappearing from the Navigation Map has a psychological effect when playing.

Personally, if I know I have to sink 90,000 tons and achieve that, it gives me a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

I can now roam the seas where I want to until the next mission appears on the map or now start one that is already showing.

You could spend more time on one mission without realizing you did not need to and moved on to the next one earlier.

So just to round up this little epistle and say, I do agree with what you are saying, but it is just nice to know.

Peter

Yeah, some tonnage objectives are pretty high in order to extend players campaign as much as possible, until end date of final mission arrives. For example, if Trevally put lower tonnage obj in final south western approaches mission then there is high probability that player could end campaign few months before june 1940...

On a side note Theberbster, do you sail your campaign with orbit patches enabled or disabled?

Hi Shaefer

See my tutorial post #188 for Total Germany ship and tonnage objectives.

Baltic 2 Merchant ships

Eastern British Coastal Waters 70,000 tons

Breaking The Fortress 1 Capital Ship

North Western Approaches 80,000 tons

South Western Approaches 90,000 tons

Operation Wesserubung 5 ships in the Narvik Area

Operation Wesserubung 2 British ships entering Norways territorial waters

You just need to look a the first 'amount' setting as you do not have the tonnage bar.

Tutorial post#113 also has some additional information that you may find interesting.

Peter
Thanks, Peter.
I did not understand the tutorial, to advanced for me.
I dont want to mess up the game so I just write the numbers on a piece of paper (the good old 80`s way :D), and when I hit the number, I am done. :O:

Hi vdr

I decided as I patched it I would leave it that way.

I must admit I did not notice any difference either before or afterwards.

I notice in your snapshot those types are all enabled.

Not having tried enabling the ones you are showing I cannot comment.

Sjizzle also has views on setting up the GFP and particularly referred to the Orbit Listener patches.

This was based on the old 7 patcher version and as far as I know he has never updated it to the latest 9 patcher version.

Did a save prior to entering the patrol area, 72 hours, 200Klm radius from AE9911. All went well until day 3 when for some reason all of the data fields within the GUI (SH5 Enhanced) just turned into white squares. even the analogue stopwatch was just a thick blue cross with a thick blue rotating (second hand) bar at the bottom.

All of the other graphics were normal except for anything associated with the GUI. It's obviously (I think) a problem with my system but this is the first time that I've seen this manifest itself.

In the previous 60 hours, I managed to track down 4 ships and sink them, as well as using TC up to x128 on a number of occasions so I guess it may be something to do with the size of the current file and time compression corrupting the GUI.

I tried to nurse it through and get it past the required 72 hours but at about 71 hours....the game just froze!:/\\!!

My PC is a mid range gaming rig....watercooled i7-3820@3.60GHz, Primary HD is 500GB solid state, (3260GB system total) and 32GB ram, Graphics memory available is 4095MB and handles just about anything you throw at it with everything maxed out so I shouldn't be running into system memory issues. :hmmm:

So....do I use the autosave and continue, knowing that I won't get acknowledged for completing the patrol and get a new grid to patrol?.....or.....do I start the 72 hours again in hope that it may actually work on the second try? This old Kaleun is just getting tired.......:dead:

Really great vdr1981!

Thanks a lot!

One question though: Could you include the submarine flag and maybe a few more conning tower emblems in the next version?

The emblems are not that important, but I'd really like to have the submarine flag in, you know for immersion and such. It would be really fitting since the Wolves of Steel adds a lot of realism.

I think the Darkwraith made a submarine flag 3 or 4 years ago, maybe you could include it in this mod?
That would be awesome!

Unfortunately, sub flags together with some other mods that add something to the submarine will largely destabilize the game. Why? I really cant tell...
With sub flags enabled CTD in ports is almost guarantied, Kiel especially...At least with this modlist/megamod...

Full 100% realism settings?
I think destroyers do not have elite status so early in the war although even with elite status it seems that they cant determent your under water position so precisely like with previous Silent Hunters. Maybe this is TDW's intention ffromm IRAI mod, I'm not sure. However, single depth charge closer than 20 meters and you'll have big problems...It will happen eventually, don't worry...:03:

Thanks for your answer. I got it. Although the E key also shows other charts and after first use the other window disappeared for me (the one where you choose those charts). I think I might've moved it outside the screen.

1. Is there any chance to reset its position to be visible again?

I also noticed that the "Send mast height to TDC" only works when you mark the target with Space and the XO window is visible.

2. Is there any chance not to be forced to use the XO window? Having all the controls for the aiming I find it redundant.

3. Is there any other way to see/change currently selected mast height but the XO window with range selected? Some other dial where you can select mast height by hand?

Thank you.

First off, vdr1981, fantastic collection. It's made my SH5 experience perfect.

Second, I've noticed a lot of boats having very low drafts, almost decks awashed on larger warships making them impossible to identify to someone new to the series like myself. I'm sure vets will recognize them easily without being able to see the bottom half.

Is this a known bug with a mod or the game? Or is it intentional? Regardless I enabled Identify Ship in the page layout.ini which should resolve my problem for now.

Third, I randomly see black smoke covering most of the horizon in some directions. Looking at it through binocs it disappears. Known bug?

I know I can hide it. What I rather meant was: is that possible feature wise not to use it at all. There are two things that can be achieved only using XO from what I can see. Manual mast height and selecting target type so you can see its daft profile. But the advanced recognition manual can set the mast manually and it displays ship's daft so even if its not shown graphically you can know how to set torpedo depth. So I suppose it is possible.

One more thing nurtures me. Does the global settings "manual target mode" have any impact on the Wolves of Steel other than setting the TDC ON/OFF at the start of the mission? It can be changed later on.

You mean when looking at distant ships? If yes then it's known "feature". Is it intentional, I really cant say. Maybe it's simulated curvature of the earth, who knows. In any case it's always been like that with SH series...

Thank you If you really want to use automatic target recognition, which is a bit unrealistic IMO especially because you can recognize a ship 20+km away, install this mod anywhere in patrol or in port ... http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=4248 (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=4248)

This doesnt work. The tool bar on the portraits wont pop up at all when I installed this little addon. Probably too old. Anyone got a more recent fix?

I understand both the argument for and against Automatic Target Identification.

Those who want to play with high difficulty levels do not want it.

The average player does.

Personally I cannot see why the Identification Icon cannot be active and leave it to the player as to whether they want to use it or not.

Depending on the experience of the Captain and Torpedo Officer in SH5 Max Bauer (Gunner) quite a few of the targets would automatically be identified anyway.

I would be the first to agree that unusual/rare targets would need to be manually looked up even for experienced officers.

It does however raise an interesting debate on the subject.

One more thing nurtures me. Does the global settings "manual target mode" have any impact on the Wolves of Steel other than setting the TDC ON/OFF at the start of the mission? It can be changed later on.
Anyone? Would be grateful for a confirmation. Sorry if that is a noob question. I'm new to the series. Couldn't find the answer elsewhere.

So I have tried to do this by myself several times now. Either the toolbar just dissapears all together, or its no change.

I have the page layout file. I made a directory tree as it should be, and put the ini file, and only this file, into the right folder. Dragged the directory to JSGME, and enabled it last.
Do I need some other files as well?

The Page layout.ini file is in only one of the mods from TWoS.

Disable all mods with JGME and then find "Page laout.ini" in your MODS folder and replace it with this:

Re-Enable Identify Target from your Weapons Officer
http://pastebin.com/Kv2EtPBU

Either copy that into your exisiting page layout or download it and make sure it's named correctly with the correct "ini" extension.

After you overwrite the original page layout that comes with TWoS, enable your mods again!

How do i get my ship to go past 64 time speed when seeing a friendly ship? I see a neutral ship or a friendly ship and it drops to x1 time compression. It takes freaking FOREVER to get past these boats at x64. Where is the option to change it to x254 or something? I cant find it in the CFG file.

Ok, I did a thread search but failed to find an answer to my question, so I'll ask. I installed SH5 from scratch so it's clean. Open sh5 and update to 1.20. Start a new career, exit to windows when the tutorial starts. Install WoS pack as per instructions. Everything seems fine up to the point when I try to move submerged. I have read about the TDW electric engine rations patch, and this is not my issue. Actually, it's much worse. While submerged I can select forward movement and the TDW electric engine rations patch issue shows up, not a problem at least I'm moving right.. But then when I select any speed reverse I get nothing. I even let the game run for an hour real world time in emergency back and never moved.

I've installed the game and WoS mod 4 times with the exact same results except the third time, on that time I not only couldn't move in reverse I couldn't move in the forward direction either. Any ideas? If not, could someone tell me how to install 1.02 of WoS? I have V1.02 WoS but I can't get SH5 to update to 1.02eu.

I'll just play stock SH5 until someone can help, I have a craving for twisted metal....

Post Script: Also can we get the MD5, or better yet an SHA1 hash for the WoS download so we can verify if the download has been corrupted in someway? Thx again

Just to clarify...you have installed the game and then updated to the final Ubisoft release v1.2.0
THEN....installed "The Wolves of Steel 1.03" megamod + "The Wolves of Steel 1.03 - Patch 5" (latest version)?

Also can you confirm that "TDW_GenericPatcher_v_1_0_168_0" and the "TWoS" Snapshot are installed correctly?
Functionality of some of the current mods included in the megamod assume that this is so.

The Electric engine ratios patch also lists the CO2 bug fix as a dependency:
"Dependencies:sh5.electric_engine_ratios.shsim.elec tric_engine_ratios. shsim.co2_bug_fix"

I would try messing with the Generic Patcher myself to try to reproduce your problem but I'm worried I might bork my current campaign....

Yep, I can indeed confirm all of that except what actually went wrong. I've figured it out, maybe it's windows 8.1 or a security program i have running. What's happening is I run the patcher and it closes out on it's own. Now I thought this was a new "feature" designed into it, but it isn't. I accidentally reopened the patcher at which point it told me that patch hadn't activated some features and would I like to enable them. I did and now all is well.

So to test I removed and uninstalled, cleaned the registry, cleaned temp directory and rebooted. I then installed SH5 in default directories (game: C:\Ubisoft\SH5" and launcher: C:\program files(x86)\Ubisoft"). Installed mod 1.3, patch 5 for 1.3, then generic patcher. it closed out by itself again, and I reopened it at which point it asked again to enable the missing features. I did, and then finished the options file and played. I can now move in both directions with the graphical issue of the patch showing. :yeah:

So, I'm all good, and I thank you for trying to help. Love this forum! :subsim:

I have recently got back into the SH series. Back in the day I wasn't even aware of the mods (except for Project Messerwetzer for SHII/DC).

In stock form, SH5 is by far the worst of them, but this mod makes it a worthwhile experience. SH3 probably has the best atmosphere (particularly with GWX), but SH5 can be quite good too.

I have only one question about deck gun operations. I have read that in vanilla SH, it is supposed to work in one of two ways:
1. manually, by walking up to it, manning it and firing it yourself
2. by commanding the crew to man it and then selecting a target through binoculars (pressing space to lock the target). In older SH you could also select the deck gun target through UZO/Periscope (L button lock), as I recall.

Obviously the mods remove the 'break/lock target' indicator, not so sure if they also remove the function itself as at least through one of the officers, it is possible to follow the currently sighted contact horizontally.

So the question........how do I get my crew to fire at a target automatically? I have given them instructions to man the gun, fire at nearest ship, fire at will, and aim at waterline....and they're not firing. The ship is dead ahead at 600 m....

I'm either doing something wrong or haven't found the relevant piece of info in the mod manuals.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Those procedures worked for me in TDW test mission. I think you forgot battlestations. Also from what I observed it's not possible to shoot at friendly targets anymore.

Using the generic patcher you can unpatch the new procedure and go back to the old simple one.

Sometimes i get a CTD, but that happens when i play for almost 3 straight hours, but each patrol get's usually 10 saves, so it's not a big problem.

That file im in the middle of a patrol, i will post later the inside harbour file.

Restart the game from time to time, between the actions and before docking to homeport, that helps a lot...:yep:

Just need some clarification please - otherwise everything is working fine.

'Baltic Operations' is still showing as not completed. This is despite my captain's log saying that I had completed both primary and secondary objectives prior to the mission deadline.

Is this going to hurt me down the line or does it not matter? Coming from vanilla/old modded versions of SH5, where failing to meet objectives could stop your campaign progress, the new system has got me worried.

Thanks in advance.

Those procedures worked for me in TDW test mission. I think you forgot battlestations. Also from what I observed it's not possible to shoot at friendly targets anymore.

Using the generic patcher you can unpatch the new procedure and go back to the old simple one.

Thanks, that was it.

I'm having some weird occurences with SH5, namely one of the training (I think) missions where the clock shows 22:00 nautical time but it's clear daylight out there,

and sadly a crash at 23:00 Nautical time Sept 30, 1939 in my second mission of the campaign, on my way to Scapa Flow. Crash occurs just north of Heligoland, every single time at 23:00 :( I guess my save is doomed and I have to start over.

As I understand it the occasional CTD is to be expected :(

Did my best to follow the instructions for stable gameplay but sometimes it's impossible to make sure that nobody is near you, if a column of (friendly) ships is on the same course.

Your game save is OK, no need to restart campaign...

For people who are at the beginning of the campaign, activate this fix (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=2305217&postcount=42) with JSGME after TWoS 1.03-Patch 5. This will be necessary only until patch 6 is released...

Hi Folks,

I've searched long and hard, but can't find an answer to this one, so apologies if it's been covered.

I'm running SH5 with WoS on a 3440x1440 monitor. I don't seem to be able to get accurate distance measurements with the RAOBF. Should I be able to and I'm just doing it wrong, or would there be a 21:9 res patch needed somehwere?

Thanks so much for this mod by the way Vdr, what a pleasant way to jump back in to SH5!

Thank you! This fixed it.

Now I am having a CTD on my way back from Scapa Flow to Wilhelmshaven, somewhere in the North Sea, around Oct 4. I will conduct further testing to see if it's repeatable under the same circumstances, and if so I will post.

Also, another thing I noticed, though this mostly concerns the UI mod included in TWOS.....I am using the SH3 interface, and when running electric engines, issuing the ahead slow command (key 1), does make the sub move at the proper speed (~2kts I think), but the engine order telegraph dial still shows all stop. Issuing the next command (key 2) makes the EOT dial indicator move to the proper slot for the setting.

This does not happen when running under diesel power.

Thats a known bug with the "TDW electric engine rations patch" or "TDW electric engine rotations patch". It only happens on the electric engines as far as I know of.

No. It was an experiment on my patrol, made heading to bristol, passed by two task forces and neither attacked. Restarted the game, reloaded the career and made heading for milford port and know i'm atacked by everything they have.

Yes, during the daylight, i've tried to get some screenshots but i coulnd't get them, each taskforce had 4 destroyers and i've put my uboat right in the midle of the four in plain daylight. Unfortunately i couldn't repeat this "bug".

I realized that already :D

But there is other very small bug, i don't know if should it be on this thread or the OHII.
I've received information by radio message of two supply ships MV Thalia in Cadiz until December 1941 (and it appear's on map as a "port"), but the MV Bessel that is suposed to be in Vigo i dont get any information on the map about it.

What is your current date?

MV Bessel should be available for refueling in Vigo from June '40:

Please inform Trevally in OHII's thread on any anomaly or misleading campaign message.

In theory you should been given notice about the availability of any individual replenishment ship shortly before her deployment in campaign. The same goes for their retirement.
Replenishment operations in Spanish ports were unofficial (Spain was a neutral country) and they were carried out in a strictly confidential way; even admitting that someone in KM's high commands could foresee the readiness of Spain to support the German Campaign in the Atlantic, to the point of knowing with large advance start and ending dates (which I doubt), no U-boat captain would have been informed about them but at the last minute. :salute:

How do i get my ship to go past 64 time speed when seeing a friendly ship? I see a neutral ship or a friendly ship and it drops to x1 time compression. It takes freaking FOREVER to get past these boats at x64. Where is the option to change it to x254 or something? I cant find it in the CFG file.
all dependensies on time compress is set in main.cfg.

For clarity, it is the main.cfg in your documents folder. In windows 7, C:\Users\<your profile name>\Documents\SH5\data\cfg

NOT the game folder Silent Hunter 5\data\cfg.
