Yes from what I saw it looked like GFP activated properly. Here is the screenshot(s) of my sh5 main directory

I am tweaking some aspects of the interior mod.
Wanted to remove Dönitz from the toilet.
I replaced him with the Horst Wessel, the German Navy training ship of which I found an photo from 1938.
I probably also will make the light map slightly less dark and if all works it should be possible to put in in the texture folders without a hitch in *.dds format.
WiP but if I succeed I will make them available for download.
Might change the picture frame though for a slightly more period correct one.
I would also like to change several other wall images but have not found the corresponding texture files yet.

You didn't specify the correct install path for TWoS files mate. :yep: I cant see any of TWoS files/folders inside your main SH5 install directory.
Also, you are not running a clean SH5 installation there, be careful not to screw up something there as well...

Hey vecko. Had to save a game due to ctd caused by my videocard. Anyway quick question. Is the enigma message from BdU the start of the patrol or do I get another message too? Since I only got a be more agressive message and got my enigma message while I was nowhere near my patrol grid yet...

alright, ill uninstall, do registry clean.. how can i make sure it will be completely gone? also, is the install path not sh5 folder in steam common folder?
EDIT: So i THOUGHT i fixed the problem, did all steps as before but I forgot to change sh5 folder in commons folder to NOT be read-only. this time after installing the loading screen was different, went black for a few min which should be normal i can see, and it goes to the "synchrinizing game saves" pop up with the main launch screen in the back ground, which is clearly TWOS. My issue now is *and i facepalmed when i saw this*, it gets to the "game sychnronized with game server" message, but it does not let me click on the OK button lol. it changes the buttons color, but no clicking action does anything. Has this issue ever been experienced?

Full installation. You need to uninstall and reinstall SH5 1.2. Then, run the TWoS 2.2 installer. Read the PDF instructions carefully.

Do you have CTDs with TWoS? My installation is very very stable. No CTDs from months....I have SH5 DVD not Steam.
Check if you have a correct installation. No extra mods?

The ctd is not due to the game.
I installed some extra memory of the wrong type and my older nvidia has trouble with it as well as with win 10 which is installed on a lenovo 3.1 ghz dual core rofl.
So at times the computer decides that it has had enough... Which messes up my campaign system hahahaha
sometimes the screen just turns black, other times it says c** found a problem ;). I need to migrate my system to my core i5 rig soon.

I think you have a bad install (game or mod) or do you alt - tab your game? Because i have never a ctd anymore even when i save and load a game when i am 10 km from land or convoy

For some reason, when I activate the harbor pilot out of kiel (first mission) he proceeds to drive the submarine right into the wall.....? Any idea why that could be? I first tried it in the bunker, and then after the "incident" tried it after I had just exited the bunker and he proceeded to drive into the first pier....
EDIT: Haha. ignore me.... obviously Kiel is the WRONG port to select for the first mission!
When using harbour pilot DONT use "HIDE HUD" because then automatic harbour pilot goes wrong and sub could crash in harbour walls and so on.

after a bit of troubleshooting i got the mod working, but i have a few questions about interacting with the TDC in attack parascope
I was giving the TDC tutorial a try to practice manual entry, and the first time i did it in historical missions, i was able to lock on to the ship (whats the hot key for this?) and XO officer popped up, and i was able to enter in the data there rather then the dials, which though cool, are pretty small and hard to get exact input in. Id much prefer to use the XO officer dialog to select the data input values.
Anyway, the second time I tried doing historical mission TDC practice, the XO officer photo, that lets you input data, did not pop up, even after locking onto target. I was forced to use the historical dials HUD. am I missing something? is there a hot key to get XO dialog to pop up in attack parascope?
Also, while entering the data into the TDC w/o XO and using dials, I noticed after entering in AOB, speed, baring, and range, I would get the one dial telling me the firing angle of the torpedo, but I could not ask my torpedo officer, using the officer interface at lower center of screen, what the solution is, it was grayed out. under what parameters does it become ungreyed?
I had one more question but i cant seem to remember it:06:

There are quite a few options available when calculation firing solution and entering data ( Almost too many :03:)
The default Lock key is Spacebar but you can also use the Circle Icon on the officer pics bottom middle. The L key can be used to show/hide XO box or by the clicking the XO TDC icon it is also possible to move drag the box to a more desirable position if necessary
Lock/Break/Lock tooltip will only show if it is enabled from the Scopes Tab in the Options File Editor Viewer. I'm not sure if enabling /disabling ingame Tooltips overrides this
The torpedo officer may not be showing data due to not being locked on or ship not identified . 1 method is by first lock on target [Circle Icon] - [ Periscope Icon/Torpedo Attack] - Then just above left side ship identification . This option is partly dependant on which of optional mods you have if any. Using the Ship Recognition Manual is obviously more realistic
The Tutorial missions are handy but best used in combination with Tutorial Vids the best I've come across are by @ stoianm1 good commentary not rushed and great attention to detail

Spacebar is more like "mark target" key, a kind of command to tell the game "that ship !" or "that airplane !" ect...:yep:
"X" key would be the actual "lock" command (or follow this ship with my periscope, UZO ect).
So, in order to fully inform the game about your intentions, one has to first mark the target with "Spacebar" key and then use other commands like "X" (follow target) , send mast height from recognition manual to TDC ect...

In one of the last versions or some versions before this one of TWoS there was a clickable Telegraph one could use next to the clickable compass/rudder item (press C to show the compass).
Where has it gone ? Is it still in the mod somewhere and if so, how can I make it visible again ? I used it on a regular basis, especially when in harbor but also often when on a torpedo run.
Hope you can help out with this, would love to have it back somehow.

Double click on SH5 UI and you have three options: SH5, SH4 and SH3. Double click on SH3 style and SAVE overwriting the py file..

TWoS is becoming a must have for players of SH5. A lot of tweaked mods, a very stable game and really a funny and realistic gameplay with a great work and support by Vecko.

OK, I think I have managed to solve the issue. Check my signature for v2.2.1 Update and follow installers instructions...:salute:
It seems that those FXU deck gun debris particles can cause occasional CTDs after all...:hmmm: Hopefully, it's fixed now.:yep:

2. Sail on course 130 at 16 knots for 30 minutes and you will observe three warships directly ahead
3. Engage these warships with deck gun - CTD after scoring a hit
The issue persists after uninstalling, deleting all SH5 folders, and reinstalling following the installation instructions. I am running the Steam version (1.2.0) on a Windows 7 64-bit build with modern NVIDIA/Intel hardware. Drivers are up-to-date and the DX9 version offered with TWOS is installed. Only 'Encrypted BdU Orders' and 'Real Navigation' enabled in JSGME.

However it seems that the problem is in the mission it self since "Pass the rock" is a stock mission and probably incompatible with TWoS. It can't even be opened in mission editor.
I'll check what is going on and try to fix stock historical missions for the next update...:yep:

You only can not see other people stats and use chat room. Everything else is pretty much the same. You can see your stats and medals and compare it to the real U-boat aces profiles which Warham has implemented, read newspapers, set your days in bunker ect...

Vecko, I thought one had to start the game via ksd to implement dates in bunker. And when one cannot login the game also does not start from ksd. Constant server error.
Will install the mod.
I can't even log in to KSD Commander, it just sits there and does nothing no matter how long I wait.

As I have promised, fixed stock historical missions and few more things...
TWoS v2.2.2 changelog:
- Edited "Campaign Advance Verifier Testing" output message: removed "save game if necessary" note.
- Added back original SV interior various book and posters visible inside the player submarine.
- Realistic Kriegsmarine grid map visible in the conning tower and command room and fixed incorrectly orientated KM grid map in the command room.
- Fixed all stock historical missions: edited unit class entries for full compatibility with TWoS.

Your new version sounds super Vecko. Will install it after my present mission ends. Wish you could teach me how to mod haha. Would love to learn how to tweak some aspects of the interior with the dining room. Mainly a collision factor annoys me which makes it seem you become a midget when in the kitchen looking at the cook before entering the machine room, and a slightly lower seating point in the dining space.
The accurate KM map is a big visual improvement ! Wish we could have that as our Navigation map in game ;)
Miss my old Command Aces Of the Deep fold up map somehow hahahaha.
About KSD. Can read my stats can read newspapers can edit days in bunker. Cannot login or start the game from within ksd. Server error message.

NOTE: Installed 2.2.2 I noted, using RUSTED GLORY MOD, the maps didn´t change orientation. Without RG mod, the maps are correct (only 2.2.2 and addon mods)
A problem with Rusted Glory (not an addon for TWoS, but compatible).

You need to actualize all. Uninstall and install SH5 and then TWoS 2.2.2. No more updates for 2.0

A few questions. Do I have to enable the event cam in the cfg file since it does not show up in the options screen at the beginning?
Also I am still looking for the original Das boot bunker clip and music which went with TWOS in earlier versions. Deleting the .bik file did not work on my previous version 2.1. Any info on how to do that?
then, do I set finished tutorial on true in the cfg file? And my campaign advance checker keeps telling me there is a problem. Might that have to do with the fact that it is still febuary 1940 in my game and I have not reached campaign change date yet? Now doing Northern approaches. Finished patrol and on free hunt.

Follow cam for your sub is done in the camera bar with next unit. Then use your numpad keys to look around the sub. You can zoom in with W and out with S but not super close. Also side to side with A and D. To do closeups and camera angles for other shots you need the freecam function.

You mean for more frequent weather changes? I'm afraid that's not possible because it seems that weather changes in SH5 are hard codded and follow they own rules (regarding time of the year and world location).

SH5 doesn't really like old 4:3 resolutions. The settings are there but you can not see them. Try to select the highest possible ingame resolution and see will the required setting options will appear in the menu. Otherwise, you can manually edit cfg file...

Search for mod called "Das Boot main theme" or something like that. It should be compatible...

It's probably a false warning.
With "some" versions of the game you always get "error" message but your campaign transfers will work OK. If not, we have the alternative campaign transfer method which is described in TWoS documentation. In-game campaign/flotilla transfer radio messages will tell you what to do approximately 1 month before designated transfer date.

Is it possible to make a view under the water which gives the depth of the ocean. Even when I am 500m under the keel, I feel like on a coral reef.

I think submarine damage is fine. Have you wondered what kind of weapons are these boats equipped? The submarine has no cloak armor. The pressure body has a force of 2 cm.
Follow cam for your sub is done in the camera bar with next unit. Then use your numpad keys to look around the sub. You can zoom in with W and out with S but not super close. Also side to side with A and D. To do closeups and camera angles for other shots you need the freecam function.
Thanks, but I am a bit confused here. I didn't see a "camera bar". I also do not see any "next unit" in the key map.
Please forgive, its been a long time since I have played this title, and I have just reinstalled, and applied the TWoS mod. To give you an idea how long its been since I have played this, my last save on Uplay was in April of 2011.
To be clear, I am looking for a way to have my external camera, attached, and following my sub.

Is it possible to make a view under the water which gives the depth of the ocean. Even when I am 500m under the keel, I feel like on a coral reef.
All underwater visibility parameters are in FogDistances.cfg file...

If you were there I don't think you would consider 20mm AAA gun with armor piercing rounds and high rate of fire so "minuscule"...

first of all, I am totally enjoying the Mod. Its soooo good!
Despite the occasional Sh5 bug (destroyers friend and foe, stalking me unless I reload and they lose track, RMB-Camera, scrollwheel for binocs etc) I am having an absoloute blast.
Already sunk the QE when she was entering the fjord to narvik. took her 3 torps to finally go down and a couple of C3 cargo liners. Currently at early 1940 and still in my Typ VII A. Which is a shame, already got 120.000t sunk of which 31.000tons are warship tonnage.
Anyways, I was just wondering if its correct, that my sub is always called "U-**" I would love to have a regular number...

You can navigate and hunt in another grid number. Your tonnage is not affected. Hunt "a piacere".

Don't bother...The correct patrol grid is actually "FW 8455", radius 300km for 48h. :yep: It will be fixed for the next official TWoS update...

Probably by the red X that shows up on the map, that shows where you are supposed to go. The message in the objective has a typo in the grid number.

Returning from a couple years of flight school in IL2...but I decided to go back to sea for a change. :Kaleun_Salute:
I got a new computer with win10 and a 3440x1440p monitor. I was happy to see the supported resolution with TWOS. I had to reduce the refresh rate in game from 60 to 50 to avoid bad tearing though. The voice recognition is working also, great!
The new additions to the Uboat interior looks great, very kampfy.
One thing, I'd like to decrease the days in bunker to avoid issues. Is this method still good to go??

grid is I think AN 7934 but never got a enigma once I reached with the usual details ( patrol 120 km for 24 hr ) ect... am I missing something? or just being thick :D

The 'KSD' Commander, a replique of the SH3 Commander, can do that. Make your settings and launch the game with it. For me, it's easier to edit the save files directly. See my 'Guide' titled 'Start where you want, at any date'. It explains it indepth. It's here:

I don't know if anyone has already asked this so sorry if this is a frequent question but yeah, in particular i'm trying to find the german voices and the generic patcher folder. If anyone has ideas or knows how to do all this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Do a new install. When a prompt asks you "Full or Custom" install... choose custom.
Click though the prompts ubtil it asks you English or German voices. This is the only way to get German voices. You can't change it later.

It doesn't matter. TWoS contains German voices pack in it.

Install and update your SH5 to version v1.2.0 and make sure that your game actually works.
Then, check TWoS install instructions PDF and ask here if you are not sure about something...
EDIT:
Note that currently available YT video tutorials are outdated because the installation process with latest TWoS installer is much more simplified and pretty straight forward...

One last thing, what do people seem to pick when they get to the generic mod enabler? I'm just curious, the only one I'm certain on downloading is the real navigation, but what else would be good choices as I don't really know to be truthfully honest. I would like the Enigma machine one but i don't know what that one is and any others that people could suggest. If you could explain what each one does that would help as well many thanks.

You can try some of the Dynamic Environment optionals: gale, hurricane....I found they are compatible with TWoS.

First off, wow, WOS is what SH5 should have been, I'm really glad I decided to give this mod a chance to save SH5 when I decided it was time to go ship hunting again. I've been playing, reading the forums and picking through a ton of material about it but the answers to a couple quite minor questions are proving elusive.
If anyone has a handy link to a thread I'd appreciate it, I'm sure this is all rehashed from some point in the past but my google-fu is failing me.
Setup if it matters is SH5 + WoS, Real Nav was one of the main attractions so of course it's there, though it is swapped to SH3 style controls via the editor. No other mods (per instructions). I just don't like the modern SH-5 look as much.
-Is there a keybinding to precisely set heading and depth? IE increment the heading by one degree or set depth to 30m rather than clicking and getting somewhere between 28m and 32m?
-Has anyone published a good guide to editing keybindings? It's not so simple as just putting the "L" key does this, it seems more involved with HEX in file.
-3 of the 4 hotkeys on the Automation Scripts are deactivated, I used the editor and found out why, but is there a known problem were I to reactivate them? Is this by design or a bug in my install that I'm just now finding?
-How important is the actual patrol area? Lets say I'm assigned to a southern sector in AL but I think better hunting will be had further north along the Halifax convoy route, do I get dinged for not being in the patrol area?
-Can the default charts and maps be changed? I have about 5 I like to have up and it would be convenient to just have those as defaults instead of having to reactivate them every save / reload.
-Fast 90 targeting, it's been a while, will the SH3 guides work for this?
Finally (for now)... For those of us who ain't 25 anymore. Is there an alternative nav map that has the lat and long on the side and top of the map a little larger? At 1920x1024 I'm really struggling to read them if I get a convoy report and want to try to plot it.
Like I said, all minor and matters of preference / convenience, which is a great testament to the mod IMO.

If you want ship identification you need to install the special optional TWoS mod from the package, also you need to switch to (or be in) Manual TDC before identifying.

For key bindings: There is a dedicated file in the data folder I think. Just modify it to your likings, but don't complain if things don't work anymore...
For patrol areas: you can take or not take a mission from the BDU officer in the bunker, it doesnt' matter, you will see appropriate mission zones on the map once you leave the bunker anyway. What counts is the tonnage you sink, you are more likely to find ships in these zones. If you accept and succeed missions then you will be rewarded with crew promotion points and upgrades for your sub, so ofc it makes sense to accpept them, but technically this is not required.
In TWoS, you are penalized - dinged - only for one thing: sinking german ships...this will abruptly end the game, maybe Vecko's Revenge or a lack of blaming video (Vecko, get the one from Jane's 688..:D)
For editing things: there is the OFEV (Optional File Editor Viewer) which is part of the mod. Go through it. What you see on maps can easily be changed there, and a lot of other stuff. And yes of course, maps can be totally changed, just located the files in the data folder and again: know what you do or don't complain for any crashes...

It's either that or not to report them at all with possibility of collision. I think that more logical option is the first one.
Also , the number of icebergs in the game is no way near to be reported "all day"...

August 1940, HT campaign, 100% realism. Great convoy in sight, at noon, I dive but they see me from long distance (only smokes on the horizon). They start to shot to me. I submerge to 140 mts. They start to ping me. Then, the depth charges rain starts. No damage. I try to take some distance from the escorts; there are four according the hydrophone, and very agressives. I start to go out of the area; the escorts stuck at me, the four damned destroyers. Due to my depth, I only receive light damage. Going at 2 knots, silent running, zigzags, more depht, less depht...From the noon to the next day morning - 20 hours in game-, the destroyers stuck at me. TCx64. I can´t understand why the escorts, the four, are with me and leave the convoy alone (circa 20 kms. at the morning). I have high CO2, batteries: 48%. Save the game and reload (Maybe the known sticky destroyers bug?). The destroyers are the four here, and continue to be agressive (more depth charges without pings); I go to periscope depth; try a shot to an escort, torpedo missed, crash dive (they see my scope in a 9 mts. sea), they continue behind me, all the four......It seems a lost cat-mouse game, I play death is death.
After 24 hours of submerged navigation, very low batteries, high CO2, I need to surface and try a without hope surface combat versus four destroyers....
Never see this behaviour in TWoS. The escorts are agressive, yes. Are persistent, yes. But 24 hours behind me, without pinging, without lose contact with my boat; I never experimented it. I play cat and mouse for 5 or 6 hours, and they win or I escape from them, but 24 hours persecuting me at very short range?
Please, tell me this isn´t true....

I need to mantain 2 knots and control manual dive planes for mantain the depth to 150 mts. With 1 knot silent running on, the boat go down, whatever I try to mantain depth...I use also blow ballast and my compressed air reserve goes down.

No. I have some damage in rudder (not the planes), and electric engines (3 knots at full ahead). I get to mantain depht at 150-160 mts. with manual planes and blow ballast but the chase was too long and the drain of compressed air is too much. I tried to stop the boat and mantain depht, very difficult manipulation between planes and blows for a slow dive, but I can't mantain a "fixed" depht. It's immersive, but also it is not my work as commander to pilot the boat as aflight simulator ;). Autoplanes only works in normal, undamaged situations and up to 100-120 mts. depht. Pass it and autoplanes don't work as expected. A detail: my crew is green. Maybe with a more seasoned crew things work better.

and to reassure those who still have doubts this is the microsoft answer about Direct X9c and the recent versions of windows:

around reinstalling DirectX . I had Direct Play activated from day one Win10, so missed this erroneous error message. ]

- It's a common misconception that Win7/8/8.1 has only DX 11, and Win10 has only DX12.
Win7/8/8.1/10 all have of DX - 9,10 and 11.
- The following is a list of the Direct X .dll's you will have when the files are up to date.
Go to the Windows / System 32 folder, (and SysWOW64 if you have 64bit).
They are in alphabetical order and will start with d3dx9 - 24 > 43 . Then d3dx10 - 33 > 43 & finally d3dx11 - 42 > 43.
There should also be - d3d9, d3d10 and d3d11 (among others).
These come before the D3Dcompilers-33>43+47.
- Win10 currently has only two d3d 12 files. One in System 32,and SysWOW64 .

I can confirm that you DO NOT need directx9 to run this. I'm using directx 12 and it works fine for me. Is it possible to change the time compression like in sh3,4 with this mod? x64 for land proxy is killing me. Also I'll take my chances with 4096.

So got it to work. But now I cannot select any mission. Even when saving and reloading when I enter the bunker.
What I also find strange is that when i start a new campaign, I am not asked if I would like to start the tutorial mission or not (wich seems to be the soluton to SKIP it to get the missions to work when you start a new campaign for the 2nd time).
How can I solve this? It's really frustrating and I hve started, saved, reloaded for numerous times now allready. Any hints are welcome.
EDIT: uninstalled and am again downloading teh game from Uplay. Wll start the tutorial and a new campaign and will see if i get it to work before i start installing the mod.

How can I solve this? It's really frustrating and I hve started, saved, reloaded for numerous times now allready. Any hints are welcome.
The missions are selectable by date with TWOS. You cant start the costal mission until September the 4th. At the start of the game the only mission is the polish one. Your best to start a patrol without orders then end it right after. Then you will move to October and be able to start the rest of the missions.

Thanks for your answer, the game date was 31 of august so if indeed it needs to be at least 4th of september, it's normal then, altho the vid did told about the coastal mission. Anyway, reinstall of base game is almost finished. Will start a tutorial there, and a campaign to make sure it is working there for sure, then reinstall the mod as well.
Do I have to restart a campaign or will I be able to load an allready started campaign with the mod?

Hello
I recently read that one of the captains had a problem (crash of the game) in one of the basic single missions. Can this issue also affect multiplayer missions? If so, why would you need to create multiplayer missions for TWoS?
I ask that we always have a crash with a colleague when we launch a torpedo at basic multiplayer missions

Thank you for that info! Had not thought that 10-12 countries cause more such a load time ....... GWX had then just over 50 entries. The New Funnel-Smoke Mod I should have finished in the next few days .....

So i reinstalled it all, and without the mod it works as it is supposed to do.
But without the mod, it tries to launch it and it says that the files are corrupted.
And then it checks all files to restore them if needed. Any idea how this can happen? Seems like the mod isn't working for me (or I do something wrong, probably the last one).
If more info is needed, i can give tomorrow.

Thx for the welcome.
Sadly I have to report bad news. After the game ran good yesterday evening without the mod, decided to install the mod again.
The installation of the mod went without any problems or errors. I selected the check mission progress thing as only one since I didnt' really know the others and would be adding them one by one to fully understand each one of them.
BUT
then I launched the game and I had the message some files where corrupted and I could let U-play check them and if necessary repair them. I letted that run and then the game didn't go further then the small screen with the picture of the captain at the periscope and that circle turning and turning and turning in the right bottom.
So I uninstalled, removed all folders, redownloaded, reinstalled and it is still the same problem. The game doesn't want to start up.
I have set to run as administrator, tried with compability mode to win 7.
Any advice? I really don't know what else to do.
I run with intel core i5, nvdia geforce 720m (yes it's an older laptop but it does it job) Windows 10.
EDIT: apearently the thing broken is the desktop shortcut.

You can find it in the TWoS MF page. One of the addons mods. No problems with it, I use it. I can upload it if I have authorization.

I'm trying to keep only gameplay related optional add-ons. By not doing this we can end up easily with 50+ mods which will overwhelm most of the players. Also , I didn't like very much glass textures I made. That been said, old version of the mod is still compatible...

No problem for me. I think that this is also the right decision, because TWoS is a very good big mod and the most important of mods is stability and playability !!!
All have the same with SH3, so only single releases and then adopted the best and most stable single mods in large mods and adapted to each other! Since you have been responsible for the TWoS mod for some time you know so much better !!!

I'm just starting again with the Silent Hunter Code and so I do not know the bugs and problems of SH 5 Stock and the development of the SH5 Mods !!!
In the Sea folder I noticed the following: In the folder NDD_Type36A is the only file with name NDD_Type36A.ait. And into Roster Folder no DDType36A File.
The *.ait files did not exist in SH3 !! What are the general *.ait files ??? Graphic?

Hi, a other guy has been asking that before, but it seems there was no resonance. But for a realistic gameplay I think it is very important to make a TWoS compatible mod with maybe three Sensors,Sim cfg,AI Sensors.sim.
for the beginning of the war 1939 to end of 1941. From 1942 to April 1943 and from Mai 1943 to the end of the war.
It is unrealistic that in 1940 the ASDIC reaches the U-boat in 200 meter depth. The destroyer can hear you if the boat drives 3 knots and the destroyer is 1 mile away. That maybe realistic in 1944 but not in 1940. I tried myself to change that, but I am not a expert like you and my result was that the destroyer don't hear me even if I drive full speed and nearly ram the destroyer.
Will there be a helpful hand?

Small bug I noticed in the Australia Isolation campaign. I was assigned to Patrol Area 1 during January-February 1944. I found the Red X on the map located off the East coast of Australia near Camden Airbase. I sailed through the Red X and nothing happened, no radio report, no orders update to patrol a certain radius for "x" amount of hours, nothing. The Patrol orders did not update. I was using TWoS 2.2.3. I am using Windows 10 Home (x64) Version 1709 (build 16299.309), with a 3.70 gigahertz AMD A10-7850K Radeon processor, 16 Megabytes memory, AMD Radeon R9 270 graphics card. Hi, I have a question. In the generic mod enabler, I choose not to have the encrpyed bdu orders mod, because the enigma machine is way too complicated to use, and takes too much time(after all, I want to be a captain; why should I be decoding these messages? :D) to decode.
However, mid game, after sinking a ship(and not getting any credit for it for some reason, not even a ship destroyed marker on the map), I get an encrypted message. So, how do I actually disable this? I never enabled it to begin with, and I don't want to miss out on an important order or something.
I get those messages from time to time as well, just ignore them. They are there for the people who are using the enigma machine, and can't be separated out.

Can you tell me the exact text of the initial task HW3? Maybe some screenshots as well?

"Patrol Area 1" in the captains log, and in the objective task shown by clicking the show objective button in the bar at the top of the game screen. The red X was on the map off shore a ways, almost due East from the airbase at Camden, Australia. I have completed the mission, so I will have to go back to a save before I entered port to get some screenshots for you.

It appears that you have to sink one ship in order to complete the mission and move to the next patrol area. It seems also that these missions are not affected by saving/reloading which is very good. Range of all missions is 250 Km and it would be useful to add this info into mission description...:yep:

There must be a radius limit on the sinking. I sank 6 ships around Australia last patrol, just none in the area of the Red X. I think the closest was around Brisbane.

Many thanks! Not a great problem for me because I mostly play without external cameras but it would be good to find a solution. What is the relation between cameras.cam and salamis diminishing? It seems very rare.

I noticed that too. It comes and goes.
The "Camera out of sector" error happens when ever a food item is removed via Dial control.
As a further test. I made food stores for the control room in .DAT model format and if I enable vanishing food items this error occurs as soon as any food item is removed.
So removing any interior item using a Dial Control some how corrupts the external camera view of the local player unit "Camera out of sector".
I haven't found a solution as yet. Any suggestions are welcome.

With your test of the appearance of radio room light bulbs it does not seem to change.
The external view on the uboot does not work: "Camera out of sectors", old problem already with silentmichal's interior mod 1.2.4.

Is it possible to increase the size of UI without changing the resolution? I bought a 1440p monitor, but the icons on the UI are really small. I use the sh5 enhanced UI, I dont know if the sh3 or sh4 style UI is better for my resolution.

- Added patrol radius info in Monsun Gruppe secondary missions (e.g. Patrol Area 1, Radius 250km). Note that most of the MG secondary patrol missions require at least one sunk ship in order to complete the mission and move to the next patrol area.

Hi Waldwolf ,
I can't write in details since I'm posting from my phone but I can tell you that most of the " bugs" you are encountering in game files actually have their purpose or they don't have any effect on game performance at all.
For example, tug boat appearance had been blocked because the unit is broken and it will ctd the game while extra node link entries have no effect on game.

The crash may be because of the tugboat in the Rooster File (TugBoat.cfg) has AppearanceDate = 19460101 and is registered in the campaign file GameEntryDate=19380101. See the example Asia_PortTraffic.mis; Unit 7. I can only say that the Tugboat is fully functional with me in a test mission and I have no ctd!

thanks for the answer, yes that was already so in SH 3 (Loadout, Sensors, *.dats into Library folder, id conflict with cloned files or ships in campaign mission etc, etc). but if in test mission already crash is hard not good ......... I hope I understand you always right ....... because google translate translates everything ....

Hi guys, i bought SH5 since the release. Now the WOS Mod is installed and also the 2.2.3 update. Actually i'am playing Mare Nostrum, but with a little problem....I still have XVIIB instead of the C model...WHY?? Can someone help me with this issue? Thanks in Advance!

i have a small question : does Real Navigation disables the option to ask your navigator for " Maximum range at current speed"? or is there another command for that, the menu is greyed out. That is a very useful thing to know in game .
