I played SH III ages ago, those were the times. I guess there are still a few ppl around playing it. I wonder if it has received any love since the .. the... gray wolf mod? (it was something like that). :)

Welcome to SubSim vanheim. :salute:

The answer is yes. There are dedicated modders still hard at it. Check out the SH3 Mods Workshop thread here:

Welcome

I only wish I could still play SHIII. Since I went to Windows 7 I cannot play it. I am still playing SH4 and SH5 though.

I have got the British version (mod) for SH4 so I am currently running a career in SH5, SH4 American, and SH4 as a Brit.

If anyone knows how to get SH3 working on Win 7 I would love to know.

I ran SH3 on W7 with no problem.

All I did was put the installation in the D drive, in a SH3 titled folder I had created, rather than the default one, and it worked perfectly,

Running SH3 with LSH on WIndows 7 home 64 bit as well. Installed on D: harddrive as well if that matters.

Last time I played SH3 (I usually get back into it during winter times heh) I was still running an old Windows XP system and I got to say it runs muuuuch smother on the Win 7 setup now (granted, much better hardware as well heh).

Currently running it on two Windows 7 machines (legally) and both sons have it running on their W7 machines. Can you let us know what the problems are, specifically? I'm sure someone can help you here.

It is great to hear some are playing on Win 7. I'm going to try the drive D idea.
I'm sorry to have taken so much space on this thread, which was originally a greeting to a new member.

So, welcome again to the "helpful" forum.
