Spark Racing Technologies debuted an all electric Formula 1 style car in Las Vegas, this new type of electric race car can reach speeds of 150 mph. Of course the challenge is that the Formula E cars need to be recharged about every 25 minutes.

Formula E has been on my radar for a while now, all ten teams are announced but only about eight drivers.
Should make for an interesting series, but will miss the emotions from the noisy engines screaming by.

I think the sound will be the main problem. From our primal days we still connect noisy things with power and strength. The car in the video sounded like an RC toy for children and didn't command this feeling of respect and power as a real F1 car does. I'm afraid it will flop with the masses. :shifty:

Should certainly find its own niche in the future but I doubt it will ever overtake (no pun intended) F1 in popularity.
The inventors of this E-car did they know that MIT have developed a new kind of batteries that can withhold up to 1000 times more capacity than a ordinary batteries
Does they also know that a young Japanese student in engineering have developed a method, so you can charged a battery in about 1 Minuit.

I can see a F1 series with E cars as the only entrants.
Possibly a good way to promote E cars too.

The driver in the video was good at doing donuts.:haha: That's not racing.
The only drawback with electric cars is that pedestrians can't hear them coming. Need a big loud speaker pumping out the sound of a tank coming down the road.
