Shouldn't have Twitter accounts...

Nothing like tossing a crow bar into the spokes of your lifecycle while you're riding it.:haha:

Probably left her brain in the bedside cabinet that day.
My daddy always told me...
Be sure brain is in gear before mouth is engaged:yep:
That saying may need some updating.:haha:
Self destruction has become an art form these days.
Engage brain before tweeting doesn't have the same ring to it.

POP also said that God gave us two eyes, two ears and one mouth for the sole purpose of looking and listening twice as much as we speak.
Ms. Sacco will be needing to change her name now.:hmmm:
Ms. Mud has a nice ring to it.

People just don't understand that once it's written, it's in stone. Be careful what you write!

The problem is that there is a type of person (and I don't think it is necessarily generational) who believe that other people are truly interested in their thoughts and opinions.
Twitter is only the venue. Twitter and social media are like the anti-BASF. It did not make the problem, it just makes the problem you already have, worse. :)

Wait, what?
A person showcasing their iq level of zero?
This is unheard of.

Do we all see what is happening with social media? We're losing our ability to interact face to face, which is another skill entirely of its own. There's an immersion factor with everything, and like with sims, unless you're really there talking to the person or on the real sub fighting the real war you really don't get the full effect.
Because of this, we're much more inclined to say things we wouldn't say to someone's face. My Grandpa always told me "If you can't say something decent or constructive, then say nothing at all." Well today the caveat should be added, "unless you're online, then flame that MF as much as possible!" :rotfl2:
How many of us here on Subsim would be this comfortable talking to each other if this forum was live, and we were all sitting in a conference room together. Imagine how much spam and non-sequiturs would diminish, and how many real issues would actually get solved? This is precisely why the gov't and media strive hard to keep us at odds with each other, and wrongfully paranoid of our neighbors. We can talk online all we want, but until we actually assemble, we're not a threat. Roll that around in your head a bit.

That would ever happen on subsim. :D

I do not have a Twitter account there is nothing so important going on in my life that I must post what is going on at the moment in 140 words or less.
I can see how some people can make good use of Twitter about 10% of regular Twitter users more than likely.Modern technology can expand human interaction at the same time it can make you less human.they say that this is the post human age because people are being more comfortable with machines than they feel with other people.
Social media dose have power though look at the protests in Iran a few years ago and the Arab Spring in general that was largely due to social media.
Until enough people really want change things do not change no revolution regardless of its out come occurred because only a handful of people wanted change. When people can ignore thier petty differences that is when real change occurs and no one can stop that not 1 million bullets.

I have it...but I don't use it a whole lot.
Mainly because of the stupidity I see on there every day.
I will copy and paste the text from the first 3 tweets from my feed right now
"That ball hit the ground"
(can't copy and paste the next one)
"why did the baker stop making donuts. He was tired of the hole thing"
*photoshopped picture of a cat in space*
And that's the top of my twitter feed....
No matter how many things you unfollow, the stupid is ALWAYS there.

I am just a face to face person so stuff like Skype is more my speed but I mainly use that to talk to family and friends.Texting and Twitter stuff like that is not of much use to me personally. I can see how in certain types of business it is useful marketing like a store or restaurant. In my industry no one that needs a walk in cooler installed or the cooling unit for their juice factory fixed they do not read Twitter.
We could Twitter "special this week we wont charge you for the fuel cost of driving ourselves our equipment and material to your business.....NOT" People know us from word of mouth and because we do a good job.
Now some of the guys that work with me if they are not driving or working (and some need to be reminded to stop screwing off while working) the smart phone might as well be an appendage. When we decide to give a raise/bonus the amount of goofing off vs. the amount of work is a factor in who gets a better raise. This year a young(compared to myself) Ex-Marine got the best bonus of any non-partner we have other vets who are less skilled keeping busy.
For the younger guys someone is always watching so best to show up on time and not to leave early you might not get in trouble right away but when times get tight the dead weight gets cut and as I said the better workers get better raises and bonuses when they work for a half way decent employer. So do not Twitter while at work even if you see others doing so.
