I am still getting to grips with SH3 and I really value the expert advice that comes out of this forum. Please forgive me if I am asking questions that have been covered before or if the answers are obvious.

I have just installed SH3 Commander and it looks like a really useful tool but in the 'Crew Management' section I do not seem able to award medals or qualifications. When I click on a medal or qualification icon the mouse pointer just turns into a 'No Go' symbol and it is not possible to drag and drop the icon. I have tried to do this after exiting the game having completed my first patrol (August 1939) and with new careers and the results are the same but other aspects of 'Crew Management' section, such as changing crew names and ranks all seem to work. What is the solution to this issue please?

I don't know if this will help or not, but I have found the 'awarding medals, badges and qualifications' function to be somewhat finicky. You will get the, as you put it, "no go" symbol. Move the cursor around within the space. Somewhere in there you will find a sweet spot and it will change to a different symbol. Then you can click it and it will work.

As Steve has mentioned...just a little practice with your hand/eye coordination and you should soon get the hang of it.

Got it! I had been expecting the award or skill icon to move with the mouse pointer and thought that what I was seeing (what I described as the 'no go' symbol) meant that the award or skill could not be moved. I have now successfully applied appropriate awards to those who have earned them - excellent tool . . .

Now back to sea via the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Kanal . . .
