Most appreciated.

I just had a look at the biography of a ditty entitled 1601, penned by my favorite author... Mark Twain.
It's a hilarious fireside conversation with the Tudors about crepitation.:haha:

Had hope to find some books about the American civil war.

Here is another resource:
http://www.gutenberg.org/browse/scores/top

They are in e-book formats or just plain html text.

Here's another great thank you.

Found some interesting books about the American Civil War. Books that I haven't heard of before.

Thank you! Another great site bookmarked. I've already seen many that I've long wanted to read, or reread, but never bothered simply because I didn't want to buy them.

Between Gutenburg and fullbooks, I have had to buy only one book for my E-reader. :yeah:

It is good to be cheap. :smug:

The only e-reader I have is my computer. I'm merrily downloading a bunch of books I've always wanted to read once but didn't want to bother buying or going to the library for. :sunny:

If you have not thought of it, use a Kindle or Nook app on your pc. The options to set font size and formatting are really a pleasure on the eyes compared to the default text you would be reading otherwise.
(Nook app uses the EPUB format also available from libraries)

Another great source is the site Archive.org:

https://archive.org/

They have public domain material in all media: books, video, audio books, lectures, etc. I've found a lot of interesting items here, some of which are amazing. They also have a function called the 'Wayback Machine' that allows you to enter a URL for an old website and see an archived copy of the site as it was previously...

The Wayback Machine is one of my favourite for looking back on the way the web used to be.

Which should enforce the concept that once something is posted on the Internets Tubes, it does not go away.
