Hello everyone!

What a fantastic site! I played SH3 for years when it came out and never tried to mod anything. I started playing SH4 the last year and recently decided to take it to the next level and start calculating shots......what a whole new dynamic to the game and a bow to reality. Every source I checked pointed back to this site as the crème de la crème.

What I wanted to highlight was installing mods via the Steam purchases. All this information I found on existing threads and had to dig a little, but got it here.

First, the Steam version is at least 1.5 as of this date for the SH4 Wolves. JSGME was flawless and very smooth. This is a MUST to activate any mods and seems like a great mod enabler. I followed all directions on existing threads for both JSGME and Bearing Plotter mods and it went very smooth. I tried to load an existing game after doing all this and noticed the bearing plotter was not showing up........I started a new game and it was there in all its glory! My assumption is it was loading the saved game before the mod, therefore it was not showing the plotter while any new game had the mod enabled.....it worked.

So far I just have the 3000 yrd bearing plotter and what do you folks think the best mods are for SH4? I am thinking a periscope magnification mod because my eyes are just not what they used to be. I am having a hard time identifying targets. Also, do we have a mod that makes the tools larger i.e. easier to see the numbers on the tools themselves? This would be for plotting and such...again having a hard time reading the numbers on the tools.

Thank you all kindly!

Welcome Aboard!

If you only played SH3 with no mods, you should try it again with one of the super mods, you will think you have a whole new game.:yep:

You should drop by the SH4 section. You will get plenty of advice on which mods to use.
