hello evryone
sorry if this post is in the wrong place,my apologies.

i have just enlisted on this excellent site,as i need some help with silent hunter 4. I run a iMac using osx mountain lion upgraded to mavericks so is 10.9.1 with a 2.9 ghz processor and 4 gb of ram,an NVIDIA G FORCE GT 130 512 mb graphics card.

I used to play sh2 and sh3 on my old toshiba windows based laptop, however about 5 years ago i changed over to the apple side and bought this iMac.
i bought a copy of sh4 of ebay where it said it was compatable on the iMac,but i am having problems trying to get it to run.I found this web site called paul the tall who shows you how to use wrapper's and wine ,and wineskin, to get the game working on the iMac,i have done everything in the video but the game still won't run.I have thought about buying a programme called parallels hoping this would be enough to run the game, but would welcome some expert advice first as the best way to go either by using a wrapper,or using parallels,or even buying a gaming window's based computer, any help or even walkthroughs would be welcome

sorry for the long windedness of this post

Get a copy of Windows 7 (64bit, any flavor you like). Install via Bootcamp.

I've playing SH4 on my MacBook Pro, running osx 10.7.5 for the past year.
See this thread for some advice, http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=201546.
I use Wineskin wrappers to run SH4 1.5 as well as JSGME to apply MODs. Read the post I reference as it tells you how to do it. Make sure the version of Wineskin and the engines you used are for 10.9, . The game runs fine with no additional Winetricks. When you start the wrapper, you simply install Sh4 as if you were using Windows. It's been over a year since I created my wrappers so I'm a bit rusty on details. I found the game runs better than when I used Bootcamp with Win 7.
